Well after my last oil change, my rear main seal which had a light seep, is now getting worse and I notice a hint of oil smell in the cab. My truck runs so good and don't want a local hack to touch it. What to do?

Bring it over here (Warner Robins). We'll look at it. How far are you from us?

Gainesville 2.5 hrs north of you. You affiliated with a dealer?
Nope, but I slept at a Holiday Inn Express with Stinker.

This oil I'm using is Mobil 1 the silver top and I had the dealer change the oil last time and didn't have much seepage but I could tell a reduction in power. Long story short, every time I use this oil it seeps but gives me improved performance. Hate to do it but maybe I should drain the new oil out and go with a better oil like Royal Purple or let my truck go under the knife and change the seal.

nope wrong idea wally:D (walenator is too big a word!LOLOL)

What it is is mobil 1 is sythetic meanin super slippery.

So is royal purple, redline etc.

This is why they used to tell ya if ya had an engine with 50,000 or more miles not to switch to synthetic, cux it would start oil leaks everywhere.

A regular oil is not as slippery and thus does not cause leaks as bad.

but the synthetic gives better protection and performance.

One thing you can try is on your next oil change put in one quart of lucas oil stabalizer.
It is super thick so dont be afraid, but it should slow the leak if ya dont wanto go under the knife.

but just for info, sooner or later, your gonna have to;)

I have had a leak since day one. Had the rear main seal fixed...still leaks....had the oil lines deal fixed....still leaks...actually even more now.........if its really just a smidge, you might want to just leave it....Or not, who knows, there is no real good answer.

I know it's inevitable. Think I'll up grade to the Centerforce and lighter flywheel while they're in there.
