buddy stopped by with one today they just picked it up from a shop, had exhaust , pulley, chip, and headers installed. didnt impress me that much. said they estimated 630 to the flywheel. i thought they were badder than that.

My Bud just got his worked on.
Pulley, Cold-Air Intake, X-Pipe (No Cats), Borla cat-back, Tune. Also got some suspension work and MT ET Drag Radials.

570 at The Wheels!

The GT500's are heavy cars, but this is definitely a big improvement over stock! Especially considering the minimal mods. Stock, this car moved OK, but now it puts ya in the seat!

He got it worked on at Evolution Performance, one of the most popular GT500 shops on the East Coast and tuned by one of the best Tuners - John Lund. Supposedly, this is a standard 'recipe' bolt-on upgrade good for around ~130mph traps and 10 second 1/4 mile runs, IF ya can drive it!

I still don't want one though.;) :D

it sounded ok, nuthin special. looked like all the other mustangs you see out there. i was expecting more

Its as much a regular mustang as these are regular rams.?. When ever i see a gt500 rollin i take notice and give respect. 630 hp not that impressive, Eddie what does it take to impress you?!?!?!?!?! :)

for 70k i would expect more...lol

Y'all know what I mean, Them = Mustang with wheels and body kit + drive line upgrade. Us = Ram with body kit + drive line upgrade. Them 52$ low 11's, 10's for 1 more G. Us (truck no comparison) 52$ mid to high 13's, 10's for 80 THOUSAND DOLLARS! (QUAD CAB STATS NEW, CAUSE THATS HOW ME AND EDDIE ROLL.........................WHAT!)

:D

Should i have been able to beat one, or was he just a BAD driver? I had no idea they had that power. My boys EVO pulled harder than that 500

very impressive performance and mod-ability. the current Mustang body style is so bland though that it ruins the performance.

I think 630 is quite impressive foe minimal mods considering the fact that stock is 500 and a stock GT is only 300hp!

I like them and give credit were credit is due, but bang for the buck 03, 04 cobra is the only way to go, as far as modern mustangs go. Just my thoughts. Though, I did get ride of mine for the RAM, and woulnt trade it for the wourld!!!

I am sure its a fun car to drive..............shit 630 HP is awesome...........but I cant get past the hideous wheels and boring rental car popular stripe!!! Why couldnt they differenciate the gt500 from the gt's? Again.......those have to be the ugliest wheels ever!!

I know this isn't one of the many Mustang Forums but here is my 2 cents on the topic....

My buddy just sold his '03 Cobra and picked up a brand new Shelby (GT 500) for 54K, here in Canada. The Shelby is a bit more sophisticated than the '03 Cobra and more comfortable/quiet to drive for long periods. More leg room, comfy seats, etc; etc.

We are going to run some base dyno pulls tomorrow morning and have ordered a performance kit that will add 120 wheel for ONE TENTH the price (doing all the work myself) it cost me to add 140+ wheel to my truck.

There is a You Tube video with a new big boost GT500 running 8s on an otherwise STOCK ENGINE, floating around. Granted, it won't do that for long, but still very impressive what can be done with the new stuff...
