Anyone know the best and cheapest way to ship a tranny? Pallet or crate? Freight company? Trying to quote sending a t56 from 10001 to 69101. Thanks

I think you would be best to crate it. The forklift drivers at the terminals can get a little rough sometimes.

do you know anyone who ships crates and pallets regularly?

i shipped a crate that i built with the entire clutch assembly, flywheel, trans, pedals, all of it to FL from SC for about $70.

i have a buddy that manages a warehouse and has access to the dock and forklift services...

your best bet is to do that, and ship to a freight terminal and have the buyer pick up there, or even better, if he's in a position to receive the crate at a dock with forklift services...

otherwise it'll be around $200 if you walk into a UPS freight store and drop it off. you have to build a SMALL crate (barely big enough to fit the trans) otherwise it'll be overweight...
