Should I fix it?

Update: It took a long time but the insurance company finally agreed it was a total ! They paid me off over $29,000. I can't complain about that one bit.

RIP Silver 04 SRT-10 RC. Died Sept. 13 2007.

sorry to hear about the truck glad you at least got a decent amount for it wish i could get the center console off it for the shifter been looking for one of them..

Well, I guess in the long run you did good then (29K vs the asking 25K), just the hard way.

I sure could use a set of seats for the Hemi.

I do not think letting a potential buyer test drive it is bad. But you have to have an understanding they are not to jump on it. If the buyer really cares about the truck they would not do it without asking anyhow. If they want to jump on it to make sure nothing is going to fall off just tell them sit in the passenger seat and hold on.

I finally found a buyer for my 04 RC. I let him test drive it. He lost control and put it into a wall! ( note to self, no test drives without money in hand) So far it looks like about 10K to fix. No structural or powertrain damage. Would I be better off keeping the 10K from the insurance and parting this thing out or selling it wrecked? I saw somewhere that a new viper crate engine is 26 grand. Any of you guys good with body work and in need of a cheap project?

Sorry, no pics. I could not stand to look at it let alone make a record of the carnage.
Sorry to hear this :(

Glad you were paid the $29,000.00 at least you can get another one if you choose to!!

Our dealer wouldn't even allow us to test drive the day we bought it. Now I know why ........................ :nurse: :nurse:

I ordered mine, and had to wait 12 weeks for it... but they would not let me sign the papers when it arrived until I took it for a drive.

Im with the others the fool who crashed your truck should have insurance and he should be liable. But either way he needs to be beatn down.

I am glad things worked out for the better...did you ask about buying the truck back? If so how much did they want for it?

That is some crazy stuff right there.. I'm sorry, I'd have probably gotten arrested for beating the living shit out of that asshole for crashing my truck.

As it turned out the guy did me a big favor. The salvage value was 11,000. I would have bought it back if it was under $8,000 I think. There are a lot of perfect parts on that truck. 11K was too steep though. Keeping the cash will provide some mod money for my 05 QC.

Glad it worked out for you dude. Could have been way worse.

Funny thing, in 04 when these trucks were new, there was hardly a member here that actually test drove the truck before they bought it. Test drives were just not allowed by most dealers. I ordered mine and a couple of weeks later I finally drove it...... from the Maui docks.
