Signs of the clutch going???

Funny thing is, on my way home last night, no problems at all with the clutch. could it have just been the heat?

Trekker this is the best way to test ya clutch to see if it is actually slipping.

run on the hwy around 60mph, drop it in sixth, then rev up the engine and foot the cluthc, in other words , rev it up, with the clutch engaged, say to 3-4 k rpms, then jsut drop the clutch as if to bark the tires or such,
the rpms should drop immediatly with a hardness and catch the rpms.

if it does not, and the rpms raise or slowly go down untill they match your speed, then yes it is slipping:D

Will try it tomorrow. It got cooler last nigth and I had not problems driving it. Could it just be the hydraulics? :dontknow:

Its possible , like i told Griff one of the very first things to do is to look at your clutch fluid, it should be relativley clean.

if not, change it, over time the factory fluid brakes down. its a cheap thing to try also. run by the auto parts store, find the highest boiling point brake fluid you can find, change out the fluid completly, making sure to get all the air out, then see how it acts.

If its better, then that may have been the problem, you fluid breaking down under heat.

if not, well then I would do it all at one time, clutch , master , slave, then you know you have completely taken care of the entire matter;)

stay with the stocker;) better launches, jsut buy a new one, or contact NBT get him to get you one, and have it cryoed:rock:

The lightweights arent really all that bad if you jsut gonna use it as a daily driver and so on, but if ya gonna race or do alot of track time, stay with the stocker, it seems to work the best bo

With the Fidanza,I thought that I had forgotten how to drive a stick. It loses energy too quickly.True,it will rev up quicker, but the downside is it will slow down just as quickly.A heavy truck just works better with a heavy flywheel.

Just do the upgrade. It is well worth the money.Much easier to drive and you have peace of mind that better parts are in the truck.

I paid $141 fro my new, stock flywheel. It is HEAVY,so shipping kills any deals you might find.

I have several buyers in line for my centerforce,so let me know if you want it or a new one.
