MODEL 19....it has 19-4 engraved in the frame,the Model 19 is known as the Combat Magnum. Many consider it the finest police/defense revolver ever made. It was built on Smith and Wesson's K-frame (beefed up in specific places) with the encouragement of lawman/writer Bill Jordan. The K-frame is a medium frame revolver. At the time, the next sized frame was an N-frame which was considerably heavier and more burdensome to carry all day.
