You remember LACR? Well, there is a movement to build a new track up here in Lancaster in the very near future. If you can make this meeting, please do.

Here's the message I just received.

Hey Gang,
Moldy Here!

Things are finely moving along in a very positive way for a new track in the Antelope Valley!

There will be a very important meeting and support mixer held at the Antelope Valley Credit Union on Friday April 9, 2010 at 7:00pm.
AV Credit Union
43816 15th Street West
Lancaster, CA 93543

The purpose of the mixer is to garner support for AV MotorPlex, in an effort to bring Drag Racing back to Antelope Valley by building a national state-of-the-art green facility in the Lancaster area. "Our mission is to attract supporters in 3 different categories; ie.. Fundraising, Racer Support and Volunteer Services"

We need as many of you as possible to show up, to include, racing clubs, organizations along with the L.A.C.R. staff and crew!

We will be discussing the New Track to include a Legal Street Race that is also in the planning stages!

There is also a New Web site under Construction along with a Social Network that allows members to stay in touch and get all of the breaking news as it happens!

The site will be going through several changes throughout the next few weeks.

We ask that you Please visit http://www.avmotorplex.com

There you will find a flier that you can download and print for this event.

I would expect getting one built in Long Beach would be a major issue. Most people down there don't want the noise and with the property values down there seems it would be a hard sell.

But getting one built up here is a much easier process and would provide the best chance of getting a new trach built in Los Angeles county. So if anyone out there would like to see this happen, you might think about coming to the meeting on Friday to show support for the effort.

I'll do what I can to support this effort. We need to get people to race at the track instead of the streets. Lancaster ranges from 2100ft to 4000 ft in elevation. This proposed track falls at what elevation? Is the starting line going to be heated? Whats the prices going to be like to race?

There isn't a spot in Lancaster at 4000 feet or even close to it. The average is about 2100'.

No one knows the rest of the answers, that what all the meetings are about. I do know they are talking a complete racing complex. It will probably be located in the northwest section of town.
