Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster! I've wanted a SRT ever since they first came out. The Viper's been my dream car for as long as I can remember and they made it in truck form? Could there be anymore perfect vehicle aside from the Viper itself? Anyways I am selling my '04 Ram 1500 and have my eye on a '06 SRT QC in Inferno, sun roof, the works, my dream truck. Hopefully I get mine sold this week and I head over to pick her up, got everything worked out, just need a buyer. Hardest part so far was getting the o.k from the boss(Ol' Lady), she laid eyes on it, her jaw dropped, and said get it if you want it, as long as I can drive it every now and then said deal and shook on it. Took it for a test drive it runs better than what I thought it would, man it's so nice! Tips, eyes to look for? I know my way around trucks, engines, never dealt with a V10 before though.

Great find and hope you can land it! Look for the usual Viper Truck issues, like oil lines, power steering lines, tranny lines leaking. Bad hose design!! Make sure tranny shifts out nicely. Other than that go for it.:D

Good luck on picking up the new truck.

Welcome. Maybe the dealer will put your truck on the lot on consignment?

No need to.... :dontknow: I'm dropping it off with it's new owner today:p:p, after that it's a hour and a half ride east to the stealer to try and close the deal!:D:D:D

Looks like normal Dodge stuff to look for hahaha.... my Ram 1500 has had the same issues and reading through the different forums over the years sounds like it's normal for them(leaky lines) you think they would catch on after a while!

Good luck!!!!

Maybe because I'm not as mechanically (or financially) inclined as a lot of the members on here but for me, the extended warranty has turned out to be a wise investment.

Power steering and water pump went out, and granted these aren't all that expensive or hard to replace, but for $200 it was covered. I bought Tonys oil cooler and PS lines and installed those myself. Now my truck is in the shop for a transmission that tried to kill it self and requires replacing a bunch of parts plus a rebuild and again, I'm only out $200.

Just in labor costs I'm getting close to what I paid for the warranty and it's not normally something I advocate for especially sincy my last DD a 05' Honda Accord V6 went 110K miles without a single hiccup, but these trucks get expensive fast. Did I mention I've only had the truck since August? and it has pretty decent history of dealer services. A lot of guys have seemed to run 100K miles without any issues, but I'm not getting so lucky.

Congrats on your purchase though! I felt the same way, Viper being my dream car but with a family the SRT-10 was as close as I was going to get for now and I absolutely LOVE IT!

good luck bro u will absolutely love cruising the coast with dat . also scrapping the coast is a good time

I DID IT!!!! I am now the proud owner of a 2006 QC!!!!! I honestly still can't believe it! It's paid for sitting in the drive way in my name and I still feel like I'm dreaming. Negotiated the stealer way, way down and honestly, in some states I would have had to sign a gift affidavit for the price I just bot this thing for... I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!

Where are the pictures??? We need them!!!

Alright I just snapped some, of course it poured all day yesterday and on the ride back so it's not clean but on my next day off I'm gonna give her a well deserved wash and wax if the forecast would stop saying it's gonna rain cats and dogs for the next couple of days!
