Some Math Concerning Our Trucks

Plus the RCs top gear (6th in RC 4th in QC) is way better suited for cruising, and gets way better gas mileage.

Bill.

I think the 04's with the 4.10 gear do even better than the 05's with the 4.56 gear.:dontknow:

Good point Bill. 4th gear in the auto is .74, and 5th gear in the 6 speed is .75 (I may have those reversed). 6th in manual is .5.

That's a considerable difference.

I scraped my first set of aftermarket wheels on a stupid bank drive through, it was so retarded narrow and you had to turn abruptly.
Happened to me at the bank too. I got more than just a scrap though. Talk about "jagged edge". SHEESH!!

DO NOT USE CAR WASHES!!! Carspa scraped my rims!!!:(

 Dang it you're absolutely right. Rim scraping is almost eminent in a drive thru car wash. I’ve got to replace two of mine so now I get to factor in the price for new wheels. It looks like I’m spiraling into the money pit as well. But just a little while on the road makes me forget the great fall.

I would rather masterbate with 80 grit sandpaper, than use a drive through carwash.

And here's my advice for the day. Don't use anything rougher that 200 grit to polish the knob. It's not worth it.;) :p :D

And I may as well add that I get free lifetime oil changes. Everyone can now go back to hating me.:( :D :p

Do you really???:dontknow: WTF!!! How did you pull that off?

I have bought 13 vehicles since 1990 from the same dealer. Hell, most from the same salesman.

They treat me nice to say the least.

 Forget the oil changes Silver, I want to know how you pulled off the 200 grit sandpaper job.:dontknow:

For me the big expense is MODS.

Everything else is cheap in comparison..................................

I agree with Jack. You can't really say it costs you $27,500 or whatever to drive these trucks 100k miles. You have to assume you'd be driving something anyway, so while there maybe a delta for the privildge of driving an SRT-10, it's not the whole $27,500 or whatever you individual calculation might be. Now the same holds true for mods, Hell if I was driving a Honda Civic I couldn't leave it alone, but the cost of the mods for these trucks is huge comparitively speaking.

I have a Focus that gets me 26+mpg around town.

The truck is a toy, and it's gotta be cheaper than doin' drugs. (I guess so anyway? Never did any drugs.:dontknow: Told ya I was boring.:) )

you guys need to ligten up on the throttle a lllliittttllleeee bit. i went to albany and back not too long ago. it's 450ish miles round trip and i made it there and back on 19 gallons with 2 people in the truck. that averages out to about 22mpg's.

QC's get almost 12mpg on the freeway due to running 2500rpm at 80mph.
I get 8.5 rest of the time.

Why is anyone dropping synthetic oil at 3000 miles?
Did the dealer reccomend it along with checking your tail light voltage at only $60 per visit per side?

For me anyway, 3,000 miles is roughy ~18 months at the rate I put miles on the truck now.

I changed my oil this past October, so I'm good for a while now.

You're preaching to the choir lol I'll have more mod cost than what my truck cost before long
Like I said, random thinking tangent, its not like I really care. Just give the true Dodge answer when somebody askes you your MPG. "Who Cares!?"

Anyway I just follow what the service manuel for oil changes, tire rots., etc. Maybe that's silly, what -should- I do as far as oil changes etc?

I've only 16,000/miles and have already surpassed that number!!!! :dancing: :star:
