Sorry I have been missing...

It was a real pleasure meeting you Dale, give your daughter a hug from us.

Bill.

Glad to hear your enduring this painful process but the end is near. Stay strong and positive Dale. We're all with you.

This week has been interesting. To start off with the good, I went to gym on Monday. I was not really feeling well, but it has become a habbit to go on that one day. Monday and Tuesday are my best chances at feeling well during my cycle. At the gym my partner added 5 lbs to his workout max, so I added 10. He is now accusing me of toying with him. Every workout since we started has resulted in an increase over the previous workout. I either lift heavier or more reps than the previous weeks effort. So I have shown steady improvement each week. VICTORY.

Tuesday was a very low key day. Mondays effort left me a little fatigued, so I took it real easy all day.

Wednesday was a treatment day. They are getting much worse. In fact at this treatment I ended up getting sick. I have been fighting nausea all along, but I have not actually vomited. Until yesterday. I am so glad there are only 3 treatments left. By my count I have about 8 weeks to go of feeling poorly. And in 10 weeks I may even feel normal.

The treatments, they are hard, but I am doing them. I may not like them, but I will finish. Each and every damn one will be overcome.

Sorry to change the subject, but I just wanted to comment on how much I love those rims and tires! Those wide rear tires and mini tubs have got to be the most tasteful mod I have seen on a SRT 10!

Dale I must say, even though I have never met you in person, I truly feel like I know you like a best friend, and with that you are by far the strongest person I know! You will win this fight! keep up the good work my brother! My thoughts and prayers are with you my friend.

I used to think a lot of Dale...but he has been holding out on us...

We need pics of your nurse!

There were pics in the GTG thread :) Those are all I have of her. As when she is with me, I am right beside her.

Thanks to all for the well wishes and words of encouragement.

Here is a little insight to how my psyche works. I am a goal oriented person. I need targets in life to aim at. (Cancer free beginning of October!) When I started working out I had goals. Then my diagnosis changed the time frame of the goals. So I am at one of those time frame based goals at my next workout. I wanted to bench press 300 lbs by the end of August. Well due to my chemo schedule that workout is on the 24th. So that is my goal. That is my own little mini powerlifting tournament. Due to the treatments, I only get a few sets of good solid effort. Then all of the energy is gone and I have to back the intensity way down in order to be safe and healthy. This plan is the only plan that I could get the Dr. to sign off on as far as effort goes. And to be honest it has been working. Every workout has been better than the one before. So the formula of consistent small gains is paying dividends.

And since I like pressure I have made my goals public so I can be held accountable. Of course there is an assumption that I will get my cancer free certificate before the end of the year (another MAJOR goal).
300 by end of August.
315 by end of September.
335 by end of Year.
365 by next Summer.

One more goal is to complete the Seattle to Portland bike ride next July. http://www.cascade.org/eandr/STP/

So you all know my targets, now I just have to tick them off one by one.

glad to hear your on your way to a full recovery !!!!
