I finally got 2 sound clips of the sound. Just to refresh your memory. The sound only happens when the oil has warmed up a little. Somewhere between 140-160 degrees. After the truck warms past 160ish the sound goes away. I can be driving or parked. And the engine has to be above 2K rpm's. I think it has something to do with the oil cooler. When you listen to the sound clip the sound is what sounds like a boat horn. It vibes the whole truck and it is stronger on the right side. Sound was recorded from inside while driving.

Weird....I have a new sound too. Don't want to jack your thread so I'll start my own weird sound thread. LOL

hard to hear what noise you are refering to over a recording? lots of other frequencies over the sound clip. sorry no ideas from those clips. if its the noise I hear sounds like a hose of some sort resonating. check you oil hoses, trans cooler lines etc

I think your truck is haunted Bro. :p

Sounds like it's moaning in pain. :D

Sorry, can't help from a technical standpoint. You got me. :dontknow:
Seems like it would have to be something from the turbo though.

I don't think it has anything to do with the turbo. The turbo itself is back by the rear tire. This sound and vibe is right around the oil cooler and oil cooler lines. The I have with getting it fixed is I have to have the engine cold to show them the problem.

Finally got the sound figured out. It was the after market oil filter. Changed it yesterday and now the sound is gone. I have always thought that is what it was. Especially since Rick had the same issue. Just thought I would keep you guys informed.

good deal, i use k&n filter on mine since new and have had no problems.

The cartridge filter from X-metal. Note:This filter was not made by X-metal, just sold through them.

Hahahha, i see someone is a Dane Cook fan.... "what,, i hope it wasn't on my coat... and then your a phantom"

There was a thread on this not to long ago. I had a problem with a whine at cold start up. Sounded a little like a supercharger . Mobil 1 oil filter was the problem.

Mine was different. The sound was not at start-up. It was after about 5 minutes of driving when the oil was a little warm.
