Spare tire

I actually fit a fullsized stock wheel and tire under there with no problem. I just had to cut the bracket that holds the wheel and tire up there so that it would fit inside of the center of the rim. Just thought I'd share...

Very creative and interesting...don't know if anyone else has tried!

Good input.

I would think the stock tire would fit too. Usually spares are the same tire height as stock to avoid messing up the gears. Unless it is a doughnut tire.

Yeah, it definitely does fit. I've got one under there to prove it. I ended up using a rim that I had scuffed on a curb, bought a new one, put the scuffed one where the spare goes. Worked like a charm.

Just a warning but the rim that our spare is on is NOT a normal spare rim, and it's not the same as the ones on regular 1500 rams. They look VERY simular but ours have a differnt shape to them that allowes them to fix over the front calipers AND more of an offset so that they don't rub on the rear fenders. I found this out by the HOLE a friend of mines spare rubbed in my fender liner in the back, when we tried to move it to the front it hit the brakes....

This is what I am worried about when going out and buying a spare. Does anyone know the offset the spare?
