I was little hesitant to buy this device, but after I seen one in action in a friends car... I decided to do it.

I ordered it Wednesday (Xmas Eve), and got it Fri, Dec 26!!!

They shipped it next day air saver, for $11.00!!

Ok, so I installed it hard wired to the trucks electrical system so it turns on when I start the truck.

When a upgrade module, it will intragrate many high end radar detectors into the mirror, and display that info on the mirror for you, along with voice alerts.. such Valentine 1, BEL Sti Driver, Escort 8500 X50, and few others.

Also it looks nice as well.. clips over the factory mirror, is slighly larger (not convex, or "pimp" style), but I can now see out the ENTIRE backwindow, and some of the rear door windows... =) It has a nice anti-reflective coating on it, so dipsticks who follow you with HighBeams on are not annoying as much.

Usage Report:

Went on a drive across town, and in areas where I know that speed and red light cameras exist are are heavily used.

This thing is dead on balls accurate with a upcoming speed, or red light cameras, also advises me of common speed trap areas, high risk areas that have heavy accident rates, and more.. It counts it down by distance on the heads up display.

Moreover it also told me what the speed limit was for those areas, and if I was going to fast but saying "Attention, Overspeed" several times.

It also found some that I had no idea were there.

It tells me my current speed, how far I am from the area in question, and if I need to slow down.

I highly reccomend one of these... they are a little pricey.. but given how sneaky our local DPS and Police are getting.. having it is a great thing...

I am using it for more a safety device.... so in case I do accidently go over speed limit, or am approaching an intersection that has red light cams, not for me to run them... but since they are a "potentially hazardous" area for wrecks, and for me to be on extra high awareness..

This is not to say I am not always aware... but I think that we all are guilty about losing concentration every now and again... and at the price of one ticket here in AZ (nearly $200.00), this unit will pay for itself in very short time...

Pictures.

Wide Angle view, so you can see that its not a very obtrusive install.

A closeup to show how much of the rear window I can see.

A shot through the front window, showing that unless you know its there, its almost looks factory.

Tell me about it.. AZ is getting just as bad... I think there are like 30 of them on freeways so far.. and god only knows how many red light cams, and mobile units they have deployed...

It's a great item. I have a simular program on my iphone that does pretty much the same.

Yes, I saw that for my I-Phone as well.. but I did not like having to keep the phone on my dash, plus it hard to read... and takes my attention off the road... :)

Could you elaborate on this???

They (Cheetah) sell an upgrade module that allows you to integrate the output of several high end radar detectors, and display this information on the mirrors display (ie: direction, appx distance, radar type, etc..)

Thus making it so that you dont have to look at two systems while keeping your eye on the road.

I dont have this piece yet... as my radar detector is not on the supported list...

Here is a link to the options:
