I am not sure how many of you have changed the size of your tires, or your gearing, but I found how to calibrate the speedometer.

My local dealership can flash the PCM to correct for gearing or tire size changes. The cost will be about 100 bucks. It would not surprise me to find out that the SCT can also perform this function.

So assuming I get my engine back, I will making a trip to the stealership to get my PCM flashed. And yes, I did make sure that they can do this 1 parameter only. I do not want them fiddling with anything else.

Well nevermind. Just talked to Marty and it can not yet. SCT is working on it but we are behind the Hemi....ain't that some SH%t. Anywho he said go to dealer ship and tell the that you want them to reteach the pinion...Do not update PCM. let them know you have a program in there and if the erase it they owe you 500.00.....

You don't need to calibrate the speedo if you swap out the rear ring and pinnion.

the only time you need to recalibrate the speedo is if you change the tire size. it is not done by the pcm, the pinion factor is changed through the abs control module. you are right it takes less than 5 minutes... most dealers will charge you about a hundred bucks, but for good customers I will not charge em.

That's what I thought! I changed my gears on an old Camaro and never need to recaliberate the speedo.
