Ok! Gonna ask to see what would be the best system for my truck as far as reliability and ease of function. I currently have a split second piggy back currently controlling fuel and timing on my truck and have been toying with going with stand alone which I'm thinking about going to. Currently 48 or 49 lb injectors with the pro charger fuel pump set up. Talked to torrie he said 69lb injectors with 2 bar map and he could work his majic. The thing I like about the split second is that if I put a boost controller the split second automatically adjust timing and fuel. Which one would be the better one for my tt qc? :dontknow:

I know but would the sct tune be able to adjust the fuel and timing? How does that work

You wouldprobably need a couple of tuens from Torrie. Say a 10lb tune and maybe a 15lb tune. :dontknow:

go with the sct, better tuning then the split second;)
But can the stock fuel pump handle the HP that his truck is capable of? I doubt it. Remember he using the Paxton split second system with the dual external Walbro pumps. Is there a larger replacement pump that we can replace our factory fuel pumps with? From what I've read, on the viper cars, you can remove the 155lph fuel pump and replace it with a 255lph pump. And it fits in the factory fuel pump basket. Anything like this for our trucks.

How do you switch between the two tunes! I would also lime a 2 lb tune so that you could atleast have a chance Steve! Lol! :D

Fugger!!!!!!!

I dont want to cost him more than he allready has spent,

but if the fuel pumps he has are working fine now I wouldnt change them at all.
nwo I would add a controller, a decent one, and that can get up to around $400 or so depending, then another $400 or so for the sct then tuning he is allready above 1k.

plus torrie would want him to change injectors, another 1k

so for now fireboy unless you want to spend a couple grand buddy, I would jsut abotu stay where I was at, as you can see it gets $$$, but I will help ya anyway i can bud,
but yes, he can change the pumps around a bit, but really then he needs a good fuel pressure guage, well which I am working on a couple guages and stuff for him now

Are you sure about the current fuel pumps that he has? When I was getting ready to do mine, Torrie made it sound like he had no way of turning on the extra two pumps with the SCT. That's why he recommended I go with the bigger injectors.

well now if he has the pumps turned on by the split second then yes, we may have to do something a little different there, probably a boost box like you are running as sorts to keep it simple

mine is the same tune from1lb to 14 lbs 3 intank walboro 255's justin makes a basket that works in the stock tank....vec 3 only way to fly unless you are doing a stand alone....sct you cannot change tunes as quickly ams 1000 boost controller best one on the market....but why spend more money on it if your just trying to sell it

What about those of us that just want to remove the weak ass factory pump, with a pump that flows more fuel? Do they sell a replacement that fits in the factory basket?

here is what I have come to understand about some folks and this is not a diss on anyone, , just pure simple common sense.

some folks (like Eddie for example) dont want a boost controller with all types of functions, he or they want a simple button to push to go from 10-15 lbs or whatever it may be.

and on pumps, some dont want to have to worry aobut multiple pumps wiht the possibility of one going out, I knwo you can add lights an switches to make sure all are working , but that is just more for some folks to do and worry about.

Most of the guys I work with have wanted to jsut get in, hit the button, and go down the road, if the pump goes out, well its only one pump, if they need to change the boost, its one button, if they need to change the tune, its a 5 minute download

they are jsut not as hard core oriented as some of us are and are not worried as much on traction, track times and such, they just want to drive.

So like in eddies case, it will have a simple tuner, a simple boost controller, and only one fuel pump, no meth, no cryo, no nos, jsut simple striaght turbos, with a simple fuel system, that way if something does happen , it can be narrowed down quickly.

Most these days jus twant a simple stright forward approach to decent hp, unlike some of us, UHUM namely me LOL that have spent wayyyy to much on making the numbers and times, but they jsut want to drive:D

So, is Eddie's pump external or internal? I'm the same way. I'd rather have one pump and not have to worry. I'd like to just stick a bigger pump in the factory basket and get rid of the boost-a-pump. Just one less thing to worry about.

eddies will be internal, but not in the factory basket, it will have an aluminum custom tank, bt I knwo what you are wanting, trying to find that rebuild place but will let ya know on it buddy
