srt-10 3500 series?

whoa, now that would be a sight to see- a twisted block.... actually i hope i never have to see one!

thanks fellas... yeah im crazy.... but for all you deisel guys sorry but diesel IS NOT MY BEST OPTION. simply put i know its got the donkeys for the job but who wants to fund my new welding machine purchase along with my new $46,000 truck? who would like to go to work with and hauls extra fuel for me in the remote places where ma and pa stores just dont have diesel? at the risk of being a real dick..... i dont want diesel i dont want diesel i dont want diesel

the chevy 8.1 is my first choice... but sadly finding a decent one in decent shape with low miles is a needle in a hay stack... same for the dodge v-10... Ford dont put the v-10 in the 3500 series trucks and honestly i dont like ford trucks.

i will not be using the t56 trans in the 1-ton i wanted to know if the 6spd 4x4 trans would work.

gearing is no issue i think some 4.11s would suffice with the low gearing in the 6spd 4x4 gearboxes, i have no reason to beleive that an engine with the tourqe the v-10 has will have issues with the load, i seen a RC saturday morning pulling a 20' enclosed car trailer.... i dont care if it handles like an srt... cause i aint stupid enough to think 14,000lbs will handle like anything... i just thought it would be a good gas engine for what i needed.... guess i'll just stick with the old chevy i got

it was me:D...

ok...well...it could have been...18x8 tandem was the biggest i've towed...and it was big;)

i just don't think the motor will hold up to that kind of abuse. that is all.

you can get trans's built all day long, and big deal, you could have a bellhousing adapter made up to fit anything....i would say a viper motor and a 6spd allison would be great, but i have no clue about the viper motor holding up. that would be my concern.

it was a red truck and it was in pinehurst NC where i am working... they had a stang in the back and was headed to charlotte.... but why would a viper motor not hold up to towing if it can be sprayed to hell and back, turboed, SCed, and raced on slicks and not tow?

also you guys havent noticed that loaded weight and towed weight are not the same... loaded is easier to handle and move vs the friction and drag of a towed load.

You must not come on here much....These engines don't like forced induction and spray you can get away for awhile but it will fail sooner than later.

Yep.... The HOT TICKET would be a new/rebuilt NV4500 (5-speed) w/ Gear Vendor's Overdrive unit conversion.......... and a diesel  :p :D. You could tow any damn thing you wanted with that setup.
