Hey Lads,

Since I am yet to drive and really snoop around my SRT10 (still in LA) I was wondering while looking at the ceiling in bed the other night what the throttle systems on these trucks are. Are they the old linkage style or drive by wire? Dad's SRT8 300C is drive by wire and I'm not too big into it. For some reason it takes me a good couple of minutes to get use to the throttle when ever I get the chance to drive it. It's like you're pushing and nothing happens, you really have to push the pedal to get it moving. Nothing major, not hard, just I prefer the old school ways, feels more direct to me. :p

Thanks,
Carl

Awesome!! Just the way I like it. ;) I'm guessing it's linkage for all year (04, 05 & 06) SRT10 Rams (Vipers?). While I'm at it, the pedal adjust function, how does it work exactly? Not the actual mechanicals but how can you place them? Are you able to lower the pedals closer to the firewall for less pedal travel (resulting in quicker shifts) or is it always stay the same distance away from the firewall? How many postions does it have, is it like 3 or 4 set ones or a dozen or so (set by you).

Cheers. :)

the pedals are adjusted (brake and clutch) by an electric motor via a switch on the lower left (below the steering wheel).pedal travel isn't affected, they will be just further or closer to the driver. its an infinite setting (within a range). only familiar with the 04' (in the four years i have had my truck i haven't even seen another on the road!)

Thanks mate, sounds like a neat function. I like to be 100% comfortable & in control before I turn the key, or in this case, push the button. Just an observation if I may, if the clutch & brake are closer or further away from the driver how are they doing this while maintaining the same distance from the firewall? Do the pedals only move, no the actual foot rod?

Cheers, BTW, your truck kicks ass mate.

to tell you the truth, ive' never looked up underneath! LOL all i know is they will come away from the fire wall..if your short in the legs:D (foot rod?) now your getting technical on me!:p

Nope, that's the only way I could describe it lol. Oh, OK, guess I'll just wait to see for myself, can't wait for it to get here. Itching more & more everyday. Purchased in August and still waiting for it to ship LA then on top of that, when it arrives it has to be converted to RHD which takes 5-6+ weeks. :( Oh well, well worth the wait. Thanks for your help Scot. :)

Cheers,
Carl
