Actually, I was wondering if you could tell me the bore, stroke, rod length, wrist pin diameter, and crank journal diameter, for our engines.

See Dan, maybe I wasn't trying to stir things up... MAYBE :D

    4.03, 3.96, 6.221 stock length (my compstars 6.25), .945 stock (.927 most aftermarket), rod journal 2.124-2.125, housing bore 2.2500-2.2505.

1.57 Rod Ratio is pretty disappointing. How much to your compstar rods weigh compared to the stockers?

yea 1.7 is nicer. A BBC 454's ratio is worse at 1.53. My compstars are 623 tw with 450g rotation and 173g reciprocating.

A great rod ratio (1.8+) is part of what made the 426 Hemi's and GM 302's so special, IMO.

How much do the stock rods weigh?

Yea it does slow piston speed down, and gives the heads a better shot at a higher volumetric efficiency while reducing stress on the rods, pistons, and cylinder walls. I've never weighed a stock rod.

It also decreases piston dwell time at TDC making an engine less prone to detonation.

Pete, how come you didn't just keep the last block you bought? JUST KIDDING, Dan! :D
