STEERING ISSUES

There is also an 06 model in the shop which just had the engine replaced this morning, I can remember the Mechanic mentioning something about the spring, he said the 06 must be different when he looked. It does sounds like an incorrect install

So what does the spring inside the valve do, do you think the valve was removed, or just the spring

let me know if you need a pic, I have the valve out of mine, but basically you will have your oem line, it screws into another fitting in the pump itself, then you have the pump,

now when you install the new line, you remove only the oem line, the second adapter stays in the pump, then with the new line you get an adapter, you screw that in to the adapter in the pump, then the line onto the adapter, I know it sounds confusing, but basically there should be a gold looking adapter that stays in the pump, that is the valve, in that or below it there is a spring

Should i have the damaged line repaired or make a new one?
if you was in the states, I would say jsut sling it to me an I can get it repaired or replaced, but being in norway , it may be best to either have it repaired or a new one made, that way you have no down time.

Should I keep the diameters of the line the same as the one I have?

I will have to see, but I believe from the mechanics comment that the spring was not there. Its nearly 02:00 am and the truck in the shop, so its gonna be in 8 hrs or so when i can check this.

not a problem, you can keep the same size or go larger, the oem line is large to absorb the vibrations of the fluid transfering thru the line, to keep noise down a bit, thats why the oem line is large

the aftermarket line we at the time cant incorporate that large of a line, so we use the smaller line , but at the same time it holds about 6000lbs of line pressure, get one replaced or made up, send the line to me when you get a chance, i will take it to goodridge and see if they will not replace it for us, they take care of me pretty good, and I can get it back to ya if nothing else a good spare.
