My steering wheel on my 06 qc with 24k miles is wearing out. The top of the steering wheel looks like i rubbed it with 80 grit. Is that something that should be covered under warranty?

Thats a good question. My 05 QC Hemi did that so with this truck I make sure to steer with my hands in different places all the time.

most dealers will not cover it. it is considered normal wear and tear. its caused by the oils and dirt on our hands.

Anyone know what the official chrysler policy is? I read through the warranty disclaimer and it only excludes consumables (tires, brakes, fluids)

Trust me wear and tear is not included. Your dealer would have the option to replace under good faith and customer service but no manufacture will cover that kind of thing. Mine recently replaced my clutch and brake pedals due to 50% of the rubber buttons torn off. I asked knowing full well my dealer was under no obligation to do so...and I told him that. Exception would be EVERYONE's leather wrap started to look like that...mine looks fine at 64K and I'm primarily hand on top kind of driver. Try using your AC more!

there are more exclusions than that... but it would be up to the dealer.

they will replace mine tomorrow under warranty... no questions ask.
