been working my butt off....
so in the next two months i need a replacement for my honda accord. its creeping up on 300K.
i need at least 26-32 mpg.
i need comfort, more then an accord has.
reliability.

i have come up with:
2004-2006 buick, lesabre or park ave.
2000-2005 bmw, need to drive one but the 530 stick looks good.
2004-2006 MB diesel. a bit pricey thou at 24k
buick Rendezvous, not sure if mpg will be high enough.

will not bother with GM offshoots of the lesabre.
car also needs mpg readout/trip computer.
it has to be more roomy then the honda..

small cars are OUT.

I can speak of the Buick Rendezvous. It will not get the MPG you're looking for. It's hwy mileage is about your low number. It is roomy and not a bad vehicle. If you decide to get one look for the "Ultra" version. It had a more powerful engine with the same MPG as the standard, AWD, heads up display, heated seats, and available in dash navigation.

how about a lexus is 300?

you can get a stick, too, if that's what you're looking for...

I was thinking a different escort..... my bad :D

the excess gas alone should be harnessed for better fuel economy :aetsch:

cannot buy a new jag. my insurance would be unreal.
element seems good, but i could not get more then 20mpg out of this i owned...

I don't think you'll find something larger than an accord that gets better mileage. Would also help to know your price range. Maybe a Chevy Malibu?

Maybe any toyotas... they have a tweety gas pedal but it only hppens some times..

drove a lesabre up in mass last night, an 04. drives good. pulled up behind a lexas 300 at a light, was about a foot wider. i think i will go with the park ave. 26-30 mpg highway is not bad at all/ my old 90 i got 28 so a new one cant be worse.

The Lucerne is a better car... I would at least look at one and compare. Most rental car companies have them. I would also take a look at the Hyundai Genesis. It's got all the features, comfort, power, and luxury of a S-Class Mercedes at about 1/4 the price. It's also got a 10yr-100,000 mile warranty. The Toyota Avalon is nice too, and gets 28mpg.

If he's looking at used Buicks, he sure as heck aint gonna shell out the cash for a new Genesis or an Avalon.:elefant:

Get yer Buick Scoob. Fits you well.

i think the price on the lucerne is a bit high, the older park ave, and lesabre are worth less because they are no longer made.
remember i need to keep the price low, because the first day i own it, i take a drill to it, and drill 13 holes, as well as remove all the seats but one.

what do you mean they fit me?
