I had my stock exhaust manifolds coated with Jet-Hot Extreme Sterling finish along with the heat shields and spark plug heat shields. This will keep the temp down in the engine bay for the SC and add some bling in there as well.

As far as the install goes FMU is installed with heat exchanger all lines are plumbed. He went to install the manifolds yesterday, but broke a bolt that attaches the heat shield so he could finish the exhaust. Probably done today. I figure the truck will be ready on Tuesday.

Glad to see that it worked out for ya! Are you still going to need the heat shields with them coated?

Very nice!!!

Looks great!
I'm sure you'll be happy with your new underhood temps. I know I am.

By the way, what is a DLM Supercharger System?

It basically the Paxton S/C kit with a few upgraded items. Rather than pinning the crack it is keyed. Custom harmonic balancer. All the wiring is soldered then heat shrinked instead of being crimped and then tywrapped. Also get a bigger pump for a custom heat exchanger. (Still working on that. That will be Stage 2)

Do you have to take the crank out to key it? Is there a web site etc?

No they didn't, but they did need to remove the radiator and also lift the engine of the mounts to be able to key the crank.

I'm getting some pics to show you guys what it looks like.

Is that possible if I can coat them with the jet-hot by myself? :dontknow: Just wondering.

what no headers......:D ..what are you a commie?

i see you went with the extreme sterling...what about the sterling silver?

will the manifold get hotter than 1300?

from an e-mail reply:
Jet Hot has recently introduced some NEW coatings which are shown on the
web site. The newest is called EXTREME STERING (MC-15). The EXTREME
STERLING is a coating that is very similar to the Jet Hot 1300 sterling
silver but has a slight duller finish and has an orange peel look. The
texture of the coating isn't as smooth as the sterling silver, there is
some slight texture. This coating can handle 1450F without
discoloration (vs. the sterling silver which is 1300F). After 1450F, the
coating will become dull/grey but will not fail till 1700F. After 1700F,
the coating would blister/flake off(vs. sterling silver which fails
above 1300F). It has the same corrosion resistance as the sterling
silver. It slightly better insulation qualities than the sterling silver
coating. The Extreme Sterling coating will add $50 more than the 1300
sterling silver and $5 more per foot.

After a good healthy run, our stock exhaust manifolds will be at about 625F to 650F.
thanks,kevan....guess i'll go for the sterling silver:rock:

I will say that some of the 'shiny' of my original chrome-look is gone since installing mine.
It's not a dull battleship gray or anything. It just looks like un-polished metal.
I have not tried to polish them or bring back any luster.

Underhood temps are still down though. WAY down.

Thats been my experience with the JetHot coating. Never had it flake, pit or become 'ugly' but it will loose the luster first at the bends then later all over.
