Ok Guys When I got my Stage 2 Flash from Dan At DC He said that my Pcm was tuned for 100 octane. (because I told him that I have a 100 octane Pump about 10 miles away from me) So If I run the 100 It should perform better and will not cut timing right? So that means I dont need a tune because My tune is already set for 100 If I use 100 than it will work. Whats your thoughts

Just make sure when you run that pcm run at least 100 octane.

For every volt that your knock sensor reads past the limit the pcm sets back the timing 1 degree (If I remember right). If you are tuned for 100 and run 91 your knock sensor must be going crazy. If you had a 04 you might have done some serious damage to the engine already if not blown it.

Are you running 100 octane gas everyday?

I always have atleast 15 gallons Of 100 and about 15 of 91 with torco in it.
The reason because I Can't always get to the 100 octane pump everyday.
But when I do get a chance to get to the 100 pump I always fill it up with the 100

I thought my driving habit was expensive........wow:eek:  . You need a couple of tunes just like me so we are not raped everyday on gas prices.

Running 100 every day is nuts, it's already 3.41 a gallon for 91. How much is the 100?
110 @ the pump in Lake Havasu two weekends was 5.49 per/gallon! Oya that will leave a mark.

You need to get the VEC and have one tune car for 91/93 octane and another for the 100.........there is a Shell station 2 miles from my house that sells 110 unleaded racing gas....I was thinking of getting Roe to do do a card for it and just use it at the track....specially since the 110 costs $5.50 per gallon..

I went by a 76 station in my area and they wanted $7.79 per gallon for 100 Super Unleaded!  I was expecting around $5 - $6 per gallon.

Lets just say you fill up with 20 gallons. 20 gallons of 100 Super Unleaded costs me $156.

If I buy 20 gallons of 91 Super Unleaded at $3.25 a gallon it costs me $65. If I add 1.5 (1 Quart) bottles of Torco to the mix it brings my octane up to 100. Each bottle costs $13.50 .

If you add up the numbers using Torco with the 91 Super Unleaded it adds up to $85 compared to the $156 gas station fuel with the same octane rating.

Further more the Torco can even be a lot cheaper if you buy the 5 gallon drum at $140 plus $40 for shipping. The (6) 1 Quart bottles cost me $85.

In my opinion we are paying way too much for race gas at gas stations if we are paying more than $4.00 per gallon with a 100 octane rating.

I went thru the same thing with a product called Trick Octane booster. My Z mechanic told me that it's (or at least was at that time) the only octane booster that did not contain manganese based products which (according to my tech) leave those nasty gooey purplish deposits on the valves....

I guess for you guys who run your trucks at the track alot, this is a neccessity.... Try Trick Fuel...... I always loved the performance...

i run 93 octane. its about $2.80 by me ddepending on where i go. the cheap stations are $2.65 for 93. guess jersey aint so expensive after all :D

If you are running a tune for 100 Oct.... You NEED to run 100 oct. :dontknow: .... If you can't do this every DAY, then you need to get a 93oct tune. Otherwise, you're asking for issues. :dontknow:

WILDMAN

My truck will knock at WOT on just 93. I add 2 gal. of 110 Sunoco everytime I fill up and now I never hear it knock. It has that racing fuel smell also.

110 octane unleaded? I was told over and over by several speed shops and gas stations that the max octane rating you could buy at a pump or a speed shop is 104. Mind you this is in Sothern Cal.
