Even though you "could have" used the factory amp.... You are better off not using it. ..... You did good, you Skywalker. :)

Where were you 12 months ago??? ;) :p :p :p

trust me, Bro... You'll be better off.... The factory amp would have only lasted about 2 months with the extra voltage going through it. ;)

I already know this.....;) :) :) :)

I say rip that whole OEM system out and begin anew with quality equipment and components..

i want 2 kickers behinds the seats with a sub in the middle and a viper fang. can you also make the nav play dvds?

There is a mod out there its costs like $800 to do it!!!

I forget the name of the company.. but your better off buying a double din Pioneer AVIC, or Kenwierd... and going that route, versus modding your OEM.

Sanchoba, Kicker makes an entire line that relaces our infiny system. They are MOPAR parts. The have an upgraded amp, sub and even dash speakers!

Does anyone have pics of a double din set up. Still cant make up my mind which way to-go.
Look at the Music to my ears thread. I have pics. of the Pioneer AVIC 3, And the Kenwood 5120.

You think that a 10" Adire Brahma subwoofer could be a direct replacement for the factory sub?

Little aftermarket thing I had built. Went with 4 Alpine 10's. Kept the factory highs and the REC Nav radio.

I replaced my stock piece of crap with a JL 10", it did not fit in the factory box, but one of my techs had a spare that fit right in, it sounds 100% better even with the factory amp:rock:

Subwoofer upgrade

Another example...All Cerwin Vega and Nakamichi head unit.

More info on this. I want to simply upgrade the sub, or wait til I win the lotto and rip it all out! :p :D

Hey Roz they are made by Kicker for Dodge. They have Mopar part numbers. Part number for the sub for your truck is 77KICK13. It is a 10" square Kicker Solo-Baric subwoofer. The setup even comes with an upgraded sub amp too. Bad news.......it ain't cheap. Check this one out

PSSSTTT: Maybe one of the Mopar dealers on here can get it for cheaper.

Roz I am working on a better box for our RC that would mount in the factory hole. It would be much cheaper and would use the factory amp. A better box (non plastic) make all the difference, especially when it comes to subs and airspace!
