That's one awfully sexy Caddy....

Jake, it is so nice I was telling Christine that I may just have to try to set up a test drive of a ZR1...if I get the bug...I might have to let the truck go...too many garage queen's as it is...the 850R Wagon and the SRT 10 are fair weather drivers only these days...the CTS V is the daily driver...if I add a ZR1...well it might just change the look of the garage...

I understand completely.... I've heard the new ZR1 is quite damn-near the perfect supercar. It does almost everything perfectly.

Yeah, but it's also HARD... It's not even REMOTELY close to being a true grand-touring road car like the Vette.... The ACR will beat the shit out of you, and kill you if your foot twitches. :D In the words of James May (Capt. Slow): "Why would you want to own a car that's trying to kill you?" :p

ACR is a great machine... but, it's a race car. ;)

people like to change ... whatever they have claimed... i understand you Roy, i'm in the same situation.... ZR1 or FGT or... a Cobra like our friend John... and also those will eventally make room for something new, something more exciting, something more dreamed off... sorry i make the comparison , but it is as we say : no matter how beautifull a woman is , mostly someone didn't want her anymore ........:dontknow:  :(

Hell, the ACR is Limo compared to the Cobra.:D

As I get older and older, the creature comforts are more and more important. To say nothing of the computer assistance in the ZR1 that would help to keep me getting older and older. The rumor I heard was that 30% of the new Vipers are crashed in the first 30 days of ownership. That is probably an exaggeration, but it is probably not totally wrong. I have seen three of the new ones here in the Chicago area at Autowerks...terribly crunched.

I have not tried the CTS V with the Stability Track turned off...you have to hold the button down for over 10 seconds to turn it off...I am told that GM considered making the duration 60 seconds...

Big horsepower and big brakes demands youngsters like Silverback...not cantankerous old farts like me. Give me all the computer assistance you can muster, to keep me off the guard rail, thank-you.

Now to be serious. To me I find vehicles that demand a lot of attention, help me stay younger.

that's about the same thing i read on the GT forum.....:(

indeed.... did a trip today with the truck and realized again if you wanne go fast , you need to work in that monster.... not compareble for example with my BMW.... going as fast i could read the newspaper in it.... in the truck i'm happy i can aim the ash tray..... ( sorry , yes, i smoke  )... and that tray is the biggest i have ever seen in a car.... but yes, it keeps us buzzy , keep us awake... so good for joy riding , not daily. :argh:

If you drive our trucks hard, leave the radio off, stop smoking in it, and pay very close attention...it can get evil in no time at all. I remember Joe Bierce saying that he got on it and the surface turned from concrete to asphalt and the tail gate switched position with the grill and be ate a guard rail before could correct the situation...and he is an experienced Z06 driver!

Good morning Roy. The Caddy looks "tits". I bet it drives great. The new Vette is a world class super car............. You may have to sport an ascot, driving gloves, and maybe a beret, while you drive it. :D Otherwise people will think your just another old guy trying to recapture his youth.:)

Very good insight Joe...going to buy an ascot later today...;)

I bet I can get more for my truck as a trade on a ZR1 than I can get in a private sale!

I agree, if you couple it with the sales tax savings. Here in NY the tax is over 8%. So we add that to the trade in offer against the new car. What is the sales tax in Chicago? Do they offer the same arrangement?

Yes I do...I have get it sold. It is taking up valuable space! But it is so hard to turn loose of it...I have a standing offer, but I am having separation anxiety. The offer is from a guy in Oregon...I want a little more than he is willing to pay. I need to fund my new 20" Mesh 8 wheels for the daily driver.

It's killing me.... We'll see if you still have it in a few weeks. I'll be in MI on the 14th. We will probably be staying up there permanently.... Might have to pay you a visit.
