Prof said:Jake, it is so nice I was telling Christine that I may just have to try to set up a test drive of a ZR1...if I get the bug...I might have to let the truck go...too many garage queen's as it is...the 850R Wagon and the SRT 10 are fair weather drivers only these days...the CTS V is the daily driver...if I add a ZR1...well it might just change the look of the garage...
I think you should get the new ACR, its fasterProf said:Jake, it is so nice I was telling Christine that I may just have to try to set up a test drive of a ZR1...if I get the bug...I might have to let the truck go...too many garage queen's as it is...the 850R Wagon and the SRT 10 are fair weather drivers only these days...the CTS V is the daily driver...if I add a ZR1...well it might just change the look of the garage...

Black1 said:Yeah, but it's also HARD... It's not even REMOTELY close to being a true grand-touring road car like the Vette.... The ACR will beat the shit out of you, and kill you if your foot twitches. In the words of James May (Capt. Slow): "Why would you want to own a car that's trying to kill you?"

ACR is a great machine... but, it's a race car.![]()
Prof said:Big horsepower and big brakes demands youngsters like Silverback...not cantankerous old farts like me. Give me all the computer assistance you can muster, to keep me off the guard rail, thank-you.
Prof said:As I get older and older, the creature comforts are more and more important. To say nothing of the computer assistance in the ZR1 that would help to keep me getting older and older. The rumor I heard was that 30% of the new Vipers are crashed in the first 30 days of ownership. That is probably an exaggeration, but it is probably not totally wrong. I have seen three of the new ones here in the Chicago area at Autowerks...terribly crunched.
I have not tried the CTS V with the Stability Track turned off...you have to hold the button down for over 10 seconds to turn it off...I am told that GM considered making the duration 60 seconds...

Good morning Roy. The Caddy looks "tits". I bet it drives great. The new Vette is a world class super car............. You may have to sport an ascot, driving gloves, and maybe a beret, while you drive it.Prof said:Jake, it is so nice I was telling Christine that I may just have to try to set up a test drive of a ZR1...if I get the bug...I might have to let the truck go...too many garage queen's as it is...the 850R Wagon and the SRT 10 are fair weather drivers only these days...the CTS V is the daily driver...if I add a ZR1...well it might just change the look of the garage...
I agree, if you couple it with the sales tax savings. Here in NY the tax is over 8%. So we add that to the trade in offer against the new car. What is the sales tax in Chicago? Do they offer the same arrangement?Prof said:Very good insight Joe...going to buy an ascot later today...
I bet I can get more for my truck as a trade on a ZR1 than I can get in a private sale!
Black1 said:So you still have the Volvo? :dontknow:
Prof said:Yes I do...I have get it sold. It is taking up valuable space! But it is so hard to turn loose of it...I have a standing offer, but I am having separation anxiety. The offer is from a guy in Oregon...I want a little more than he is willing to pay. I need to fund my new 20" Mesh 8 wheels for the daily driver.
