I'm an audio junkie for the best sound possible. I would like to set up an in cab tri amp 6000 watt rms system using the stock CD/Nav stereo system. Two 2000 watt RMS amps for bass using two 10" subs and one 2000 watt RMS amp for mids/highs using the speakers in the truck now. Yes i need to upgrade the factory infinity speakers to handle the load. I would like to do this without taking out the rear seats and building a giant enclosure to house the 10" subs. Yes its a QC. The space under the rear seats will fit a 8" height max sub with 1 of those prefab dual speaker box enclosure make specifically for the rams. Any decent 10" sub will be at least 10" in height. This is the same problem I had with my 2000 dodge ram 1500. I have the amps already installed behind a power distribution box supplied by 2 guage wire running behind a kole 6.0 cap and a 200amp breaker at the battery. Right now I only have 1 2000 watt RMS sub amp connected to the system behind a Hi/Lo converter and bypassing the stock sub amp. Anybody have any ideas as to supercharging the audio.

beep beep! :burnout:

First of all.... where in the HELL are you going to find a 1000W rms 10" subwoofer? :dontknow:

EDIT: Well I suppose you could get a 500W rms 10 and just turn the amp's gain up half-way. :)

actually i have a treo SSi single 10" sub in a box molded out of my stock box, i have a 1200 watt amp on this sub which max power is 750watts rms, that along with the focal 3ways the sound jams and 2 ways in the rear the truck has awesome clarity and base.

The ProBox I installed fits perfectly under the back seat with 2 12" woofers and takes 600 Watts RMS, it'll blow the freakin windows out of the truck with the relatively small (200 watt RMS) amp I have on them. That's all about to change though, I have 4000 watt peak/600 watt RMS amp on the work bench...

Could you PM me a wish list so that someday I may Rock as hard as you....I miss my old system, I had to trade it in with the Silverado so that I wouldnt be upside down....I think I got ripped off.:( :(

I kinda liked how you did your truck except I probly wouldnt go with yellow...;)

I'll just put it all here so everyone can poke holes in what I'm up to. I've never really done a high end stereo so I'm learning as I go and making some decisions on gut feel IE the amps I chose are yellow and black so they look cool with my interior/truck and more importantly they have speaker level inputs so I don't have to worry about conversion and I can stay with the fatory head unit....LOL!!!

The sub enclosure is a ProBox wth dual 12" Sunwoofers (see pictures). You can't buy them anywhere except for through an authorized dealer. You can get them with 10 or 12 inch subs, in 2 or 4 ohm. Mine is 4 ohm rated at 600 watts RMS, if I recall it was $425.00. The amp I'm putting in is a Pyle Gear X PLA-2850 Which is 600 wats/RMS 4000 watts peak $157.

The side/door speakers are Infinity Kappa 693.71 6 X9 in the front doors ($128) and 60.7cs in the rear doors ($108). The amp I'm using for them is a Pyle Gear X PLA-4350 ($139) it has 2000 amps peak, 300 watts RMS.

For the dash speakers, I'm doing Infinity Kappa 32.7 ($50) and a Pyle Gear X 2150 amp that is 600 watts peak and 80 watts RMS it sells for ($62).

So that's a total of $1069 so far, but I haven't done anything about capacitors, misc wiring etc, but I'm still pretty pleased with the budget. Hell, I spend way more than that on gauges...LOL!!!

LOL!!! Me either, that's why I've been researching this for months...

What kind of music do you listen to? Cuz the 12's are nice but I think 10's might suit my application a little better....I listen to Rock/Metal/Punk....and sometimes a catchy rap song.;) :p

The subs i have are 2nd on the list of this link. And no amp's gain is ever turned down half way. Only the volume is may be turned down half way when listening to the engine sing:rock:

Your able to mount a dual magnet sub? I have a set of 10' Orion HCCA subs and wasn't able to mount due to depth limitations. I'm probably going to go with the 10' Kicker L7's, nice tight sub with lots of "Cubic Inches" to spare.

Read my post on this thread, yeah, I have some ideas...

Saw your post with the pics. Box looks good but what is the max height of the speaker that the box will handle. How many cubic feet of air space per sub? Also does your back seat sit down right or did you have to raise the height of your back seat?

I do not have answers to your questions other than I did not have to change anything on the seat. The box fits right in on one side where the factory sub was, on the other side where the storage bin is/was and the seat goes down in it's normal position. I did not have to select speakers, it came with them already mounted so I don't know or have to worry about the box depth etc.
