Well not really but, for the cost of getting my truck SC'd I just upgraded to granite in my kitchen and two bathrooms. Installers just finished today. Have been eating take out for 10 days now!!!! I am ready for a home cooked meal! Would like to change the appliances over to stainless steel but not wanting to drop another $5k in doing so. For some reason my cheapness says "why buy new ones when the existing one arent broke"?

Next up is 3 bathrooms. Putting in that porceleen tile that looks just like travertine but without the hassle of a porus stone.

This weekends job, knobs for cabinets, reinsall all plugs with stainless plates, hook up garbage disposel and all kitchen plumbing then gotta start the demo on one bathroom!!!:) Good fun!!

Cell phone pics so quality isnt the best..... I love this granite...........it really comes alives.

I am with you about the time and effort that it takes to upgrade the kitchen. Last year I upgraded the wife's kitchen and it was a little horrific!! Your kitchen turned otu real nice... what did it look like before? Here are two pics of my adventure. Check it out...

Hey Patrick

This is what we've been doing lately here in NY. We do New home construction and some alteration work. Its not uncommon for total kitchen Rehab to cost in excess of $100k.:2in1:

I gotta be honest - It would look much better with lots of food and beer covering the countertops.

We're waiting for our invitations and round-trip plane tickets.;) :D

Looks Real Good Dude!

Mace, I couldnt find any before pics on my computor:dontknow: I thought I had taken some. Well the before shot was tile similar in color to what you had. Backsplash was only 6 inches. It looked ok, but was just tired of it and wanted to give it the blinged look.

As far as investment wise. I bought this house in 99 for $240k, its a gated community with 19 homes. Very small lots but a very quaint hood. They now sell for over $800k!!! In west Maui, there are not too many options at that price. Ours are actually considered cheap because of the very small lots and small square footage. My house is 1300 with a one car garage on a 3700 sq. foot lot!!!

I would like to get a bigger house, but they are priced so high.......its hard to give up my very small mortage for one that would be 2 to 3 times that.

Begood, to give you an idea of how pricey everything is here...........granite(emerald pearl) cost $4300, fab and install $4300, misc items (3 sinks, garbage disposal, faucets etc...) $1500.

Thanks for the props guys.............:) Feels good doing some of the work myself. Gonna be a plumber on Sat.!!!!
