I’m seldom serious but here is a thought...

It is the one item I wore even when showering while on active duty. Everyone who has served in the military was issued a set of Dog Tags. It’s the one universal issue between all ranks of all the branches.
Show your (FREE) visual support of our military for the month of June. I’m asking that you wear your Dog Tags during the month of June and until July 4th to show solidarity for our troops. Wear them on the outside of your clothes. Many of us have lost family members in the service and wear that persons tag as a remembrance. Show it off…
Whether you support the war or not doesn’t matter. This is about our sons, daughters, mothers and fathers that are fighting or have fought for their country regardless of the underlying reasons. It was our duty and we or they did it. Please break them out and show our military family that we are still with them. Wear your’s or the tags of the one you lost proudly on your chest. We are one country, one team and I am proud to have been part of that team - the most powerful and devastating military that has ever existed.
I now propose...
JUNE – Military Service Dog Tag Month:rock:

Robert (The Itch) Itschner USAF 1981-1985

They look COOL too...?:dontknow:

What did you do when you were in Itch?

Thank you for you and everyone on here who expresses their support for the troops. Take from someone who is here (in theater), the work we do is helping and having a huge effect. The unit I'm in and those we work with are eliminating AQI and the insurgency nightly. The Iraqi army is really stepping up to the plate too and working hard.

I will wear mine on the outside for a change,I'm with you Itch.Been wearing mine for awhile now in support.

Since you asked...:D And for all of you over there.:congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: Standing "O"!!!

I’m from a small town in KY and typically the military is just what you do after graduating high school.:dontknow:
I went in the AF out of high school to learn about electronics. I was assigned to 56 CRS when MacDill was a TAC base and I maintained Airborne and ground Photographic and Video systems on the F-4 and mainly the F-16. (Basically Recon Repair Shop)I was a trainer on that new-fangled system that used video tape… In 1982 VCRs were $800.00 and good luck RENTING movies. Man I’m feeling old… BTW I found out I HATED electronics. Trouble shooting a circuit board = ROOT CANAL. :banghead:
~BUT~
Mostly I just drank BEER, hung out on the beach and chased chicks…   but we were ready if needed. I didn't carry a weapon but I could trouble shoot the avionics system of an F-16 in the blink of an eye.
Watch STRIPES or ANIMAL HOUSE and you will kind of understand my time in active (inactive) duty. A few hurricanes and Granada didn’t really count as action. For that, I'm thankful.:D

No, you dont owe me any thanks...I wholeheartly thank you and all the others who do such an honorable service for this great country.......what you say about how your work is having a huge affect is what I hear fom others I know that are/have served in Iraq......somebody needs to tell the news media that the Vietnam war is over...

I don't have any dog tags myself or of loved ones, but every uncle of mine has served in some branch of the military.
My heart goes out to all who have served or are serving in the miliatry!

(We miss you Kris!)

I'm not a fan of the war - but I will always support the troops!! They are only putting their lifes on the line for us back home.

Been wearing mine for the last 8 yrs! lol thanks guys,,, I know I will be home in a few weeks!!! Rock Of The Marne!!

Mine are long gone, I don't have anything left at all from my days in the Corps. Went on a government sponsored vacation a while back and when I got out everything I owned was gone, had to start over with the clothes on my back. Wish I still had them though, this is a great idea and I would love to join in.

We were on the USS Midway yesterday, and they had a little setup to send postcards to the troops. I couldn't believe how few people found the 2 minutes it took to jot something down and send it off for free! I made sure that while all 5 of us (so if you get a card from a 3 year old you know why hehe) were writing something, that everyone who passed it by heard just how big of an asshole they were LOL.
