How reliable would a t56 be if I stuck it in my quad with the twins. I'm tired of the tranny issues with the 48re. I know some of the members have already done the conversion in their quads but I don't think any are f.i. Should I consider the t56 or a different auto tranny that won't give the problem I've had with the 48re. I just had this dam thing rebuilt 1500 miles ago at suncoast and the twins were on the truck only half those miles. The other day I was driving home and went to pass someone on the expressway, the truck down shifted like it was suppose to from o.d to third but wouldn't up shift back into o.d unless I let off the throttle. Then as i was coming down my street normal acceleration, the truck all of a sudden revved as if it were in neutral. Coasted to my driveway and put the truck into park, then reverse , neutral, drive, 2nd, and finally 1st. It wouldn't engage in any position. After a few minutes of continuing to do it it finally engaged but now won't highlight low 1 when I shift it to there. My tranny temps are good, no overheating issues at all. I let it cool down and decided to try it again. Started down the block and as soon as it went to shift it revved like if it went into neutral again and then once again could get it to grab any mode until after I kept shifting between them for a few. Fluid doesn't smell burned but looks a little dirty. Not bad though.

Dom has put more power than anyone through a T56. The stock clutch stetup should be good for about 700 ft lbs, a good tranny wills hold more than that. Another thought is that a good 4L80e will hold way over 1000hp...

From all the research I've done, the 4L80E would be the best way to go. That's going to be the route I take this summer.

be different for sure:rock::rock::rock:

Where can you buy the Bell Housing that bolts to the engine for Powerglide, Turbo 400, or 4L80E?

from personal experience you will need a really good clutch in 700 miles i went through 2 clutch setups im currently waiting on my tilton

Throw a t56 magnum in there and call it a day. Make that truck fun to drive.

Auto's are for track queens.

I will always keep my t56 in my truck. I will build it to the max it can handle then stop.love my 6speed

I've heard of trailer queens and dyno queens. But never a track queen.

Sent from my iPhone 6 while driving 100 mph on a dirt road

Oks you push dat pedals on the right and den you hold on dats all ya gotta do...

ya donts got to do no fancy pedals on da other side, thinks they calls that thing a man pedal or something..

buts we just haves to push the one peddle to go fasts aint no fancy pancy pedals for us..
