Tailgate assist?

I saw a thread about tailgate helpers and can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyway, can you guys post opinions about them and the brands available. I was looking for one that helps when raising and lowering. Thanks,:rock:

There are 2 different kinds. The EzDown (the one I have) is basically a shock that prevents the tailgate from slamming down.
There is another kind (I dont know the name) that is a spring that makes the tailgate easier to open and close.

But you cant use the two together.

I have the "Deezee Ezdown" kit. A very nice piece, easy to install and it works a treat - SOOOOO much better than stock. Pull the handle and just let it drop, makes life much easier. I recommend it to all. Can't remember what it cost but f-all and worth every penny, especially if you use the truck heaps to haul shit.

I know which one your talking about. It's a straight bar that inter-loops with the tail-gate and the back of the Truck. :rock: It helps you left the weight of the tail-gate.
The member that had this on his Truck....sold the Truck.

But we all know him.....maybe he'll chime-in.

I got EZ Down too. Like it alot. Does anyone else have a problem with the cable sticking out of the crack between the tailgate and the tail light? That foam pad gets caught between the lift support and the Tail light as well. Do I have that pad in the wrong place?

Mine does every once in awhile.

Mine does it too,just open back a little a adjust the position of the cable.

Just move the foam pad up an inch or two. That will do the trick!
