Has Left the Room - Banned from VTCOA!
ok, yesterday was flight 3, and the last i will be doing with that instructor.
for the third flight we climbed higher then i have ever been before, close to 7,000ft. we actually went above the clouds, WOW never had done that before.
cant really put into words how awesome it was to be up there, in the calm air, completely calm. i was looking at the tops of clouds, and dodging them.
we did a power off stall then i repeated it, then he did a power on stall, i was too nervous to try that. so i, at his request, did another power off stall.
some background on this guy, he flew F100's whatever that is, during nam.
so he is a great flier, and a great instructor.
when we were ready to come down i could not find an opening in the clouds, so he took over. he goes do you see an opening? i jokingly replied, yeah right there at 9'oclock if we dip to 80degres we can shoot it. he goes "here we go" WOW completely sideways, left bank 90d then cut right 90, pulled up and got what i estimate was 3G's, did another series of banks turns and another 3G's! what a wake up. i was not even scarred anymore, i was having a blast!
then he called ATC after giving me flight back. they advised him that it was blowing to 28K cross wind. so he took controls back for the landing.
what a great flight.
however, he sat me down and we talked about some schooling, and book work. and if i don't get into the books, and do more lessons more often he would not sign off on my solo, or my tests. so basically he said he loved to teach me, but he wants me to follow the book method of learning as well.
so that will probably be the last flight with the jet pilot, thou i may ask him for one more flight, he is a GREAT teacher. would like to do the power on stall with him in the co-pilots seat. i really feel i can trust him.
will call him next week to see if he wants to do just one more.
