Some know & some don't
on 1/29 @ 8:15 in the morning I was making a left turn as the second vehicle on a red light (I was past the lines as the car in front of me made the turn the light was red)... I noticed a cop directly to my left... and didn't want to hang out in the intersection to long so went <as the light was red>....
So, coming the other way this lady(who I'll refer to as biznatch from her on out) decides she wants to run the red in her mini van.... well... next thing you know... bada BOOM... bumper/grill was toast <wasn't too bad as the airbags didn't even deploy>
The damage took about 3 weeks to repair <parts/paint etc> new AC & transmission cooler....were slightly bent... oddly enough the heat exchanger only had a few scratches on it..
So... the tank looks a little different now... no billet grill... I had the hood schoop re-added <as mike cut it out> and put the honeycomb grill on.... one of the headlight mounts broke so I'm going to replace them both (with projector/HID combos I think.....
On a good note
A: The cop is my best witness... I talked to him and a few of his cop buddies about the truck... one jokingly asked if the bottle was hooked up... I didn't tell him it had a bottle... guess these cops aren't that dumb
but atleast the cop agrees that there was no question that the accident was not my fault...
Anyway.... gotta wait for the police report to go after their insurance co and charge them for the aftermarket stuff that was broke foglight, billet grill, heat exchange (even tho it's just scratched)
Lastly, I'm gonna get the tank down to westminster today or tomorrow... looking forward to getting it on the track
...
don't think I'll be breaking any records soon... but look forward to meeting some of you guys....
p.s. anyone have a fire jacket they wanna sell me?
....
I'll send pics of the tank once i get it back from the tranny shop...
i wish i was driving the M that day.... i can easily buy another M5... I can't easily buy another supertank
