i agree it's not easy for Prof to compare screens in a shop by asking to play his favorite movies.... must be a little embarrasing...

My opinion is that YOU have to be happy with the TV!
Some of the higher end TV's (like Pioneer Elite) are more expensive because they have more lifelike coloring and faster processing. The Elite's claim to fame is that their blacks are blacker (the most difficult color to recreate is black. Alot of TV's have black but it looks grayish black or charcoal)
Anyway hope this helps.
Almost forgot. No matter which one you pick, make sure you have a professional configure the picture (adjusting the colors just right with a computer makes a HUGE picture difference!)
