thinking of getting some slicks

I have a stock 04 RC and am looking to purchase a set of rims & tires for the track. What are my options? Whats the smallest rim that can be ran witout shaving the caliper? What's the bolt pattern & offset of the stock rims?

What is everyone running for tires? Drag radials, Slicks, ET Streets?

Depends on how extreme you want to get...

Slicks (non-DOT) are going to give you the best traction...but be prepared to run a 16" rim (which means grinding)

some* 17" wheels fit without grinding, but no drag tire...

you can go with a 18" drag radial (nittos) without grinding

Bolt pattern is 5x5.5

Bolt pattern 5x5.5
around 24mm offset
around 5.5 backspacing.

You can get 17's or 18's in eagle alloy from a company in mooresville nc that will fit without grinding in these sizes for $100-$120
You can also get 16's from them for around the same.
they stick out about 1-2 inches but for $200 or so a set jsut for the track they arent bad
Ask for mike.
They can also be found on ebay under rim-zone.
Cheapest way to go on rims.
The eagle alloys are just for example 17 inch, 5x5.5 bolt pattern, 24mm offset, and 4.5 backspacing in the 058 series i think
Just dont ask for rims that fit our truck, he goes by the book mostly, do your homework and call and tell him this is the rim you want , in 16,17,or 18.

Alright, thx. Can somone link me to some 17" rims that will fit without griding the calipers? How wide can the rim be without rubbing, and what size tire would be recommended to run? I have nitto 555r's on my cobalt and they work fairly well. For those that have/are running drag radials, what setup have you went with, and what seems to work best?
