I'm not sure what they are called but there on the outer ends of the grill behind it:dontknow:. I'm sure i've read about people painting them before but cant find it in the search due to not knowing what i'm looking for. If someone has painted them could you let me know what kind of paint you used and if its held up good. Thanks

Rub it down with a scotch bright pad, clean it real good with dawn, then denatured alcohol, then paint prep. I used Rustoeum Plastic Black or krylon fusion. No need to go with Gloss or clear over it, because the plastic is textured. The idea is to get those plastic peices, which often turn gray from oxidation, to be black and blend in if not disappear in the grill. Make it easy for yourself.

Anybody else just removed them? I bought the forbidden H cold air before I joined the forum. It puts the air filter right behind the grill so I removed the plastic shroud to get an almost "ram air". I have to say I LOVE IT!

Cool thanks ...

Spring what's that ? I live in Florida ,,, It's almost summer here ,, HOT HUMID

I took them off my 2005 RC when I changed to the honeycomb. I think it looks much cleaned. Im not sure the advantage/disadvantage of them.

IIRC they are designed to push all grill airflow over the radiator for cooling.

I probably put 2-3k mi on my truck since I removed them and didn't notice the truck running any hotter or fan kicking on any more.

I have had the passenger side one off for more than 26k miles to feed my intake and I haven't notice any difference either.
These trucks were designed to handle multiple types of racing events and road course racing is probably where the pieces in question would show their function IMO.

I bought my truck without them on there, I seen them & didn't even know what they were :dontknow:

I took them off my '05 and rode it like that for a while, but you could see the white jugs behind it. Also in the picture you can see the "VIPER" decal on the brackets by the condenser. Some people put the fangs emblem there. with the shrouds you cant see it. I wound up painting the shrouds and they disappeared behind the radiator. Also fogged the condensor with black and that helped too.

I was looking at some older photos, and i believe the ones on my truck are a little faded too. I may paint these.
