Those with Magnaflow problems please post links

I love the sound of the magnaflow. I have problems with mine and spoke to a rep a few minutes ago. After a decent chat, I asked about replacing the actual muffler for those that have had issues. He stated that they do not have an actual model number for the muffler individually, as its part of a kit. This we already know....

What he did mention is that according to his database, they did not have any revisions to the kit since it started being manufactured. This is odd since we have members who got an early run on the kits and didn't and still do not have issues.

He asked me to send him a link to the site and some links with pics showing how the welds go bad and create those holes. Not sure what can be done but I'd appreciate any help putting this together.

So post up pics and links to threads no matter how bad they are. I told them that some people didnt have too many nice things to say. He was cool with that as well. He was kinda glad I brought up a quality control issue.

I threw the whole cat back away and bought a B&B Much better built system IMO.

My weld broke on my 06RC. DC Performance just had their welder fix it instead of going thru Magnaflow. It's been good ever since. I'll check to see if I have any pics.

I had a seam come apart but the muffler shop did a $25 weld and fixed it...no pictures..

My Magnaflow was fine... Had it about 3 years. But, I live in FL (no salt). :dontknow:

mine is buzzing/rattling at a certain RPM.loose baffles? i have one of the earlier ones, its probably 5 and a half years old now.

I had a muffler shop put on a set of Magnaflows and they were not part of a kit. They cut the stock mufflers out and put in the Magnaflow and removed my resonators. How are muffler shops able to get just the mufflers???

When I spoke to the rep, he did say that they make the muffler but the inlets and outlets are not set up for the truck. You would have to go to a muffler shop to get it installed properly.

Yes, I did have have problems as Burnt Rubber mentioned.. I have not been on here much since I sold my truck in 2008....I miss it.. and hope it be able to buy another one soon....

I wanted to buy a kit, but because of the problems I heard about I passed.

No problems with my kit yet. I bought it used and it has been on a couple years now.

mine's been on for at least 60k, and i'm getting rust spots on the cannister, but it's been "bad" for at least a year now...

i can get some pics if you think there is some benefit or recourse here...
