What do you think of side tips?

Well I've been snooping around on diff exhaust ideas. After Stinker posted a blowout sale on MBRP, I got to googling SRT MBRP and got a youtube hit of a Jeep SRT8 with side pipes. I found the owners post on another forum. He had lots of people hating on the size of tips that he used, 6" on both sides. I've seen several members here with side exhaust, I may go this route but with a smaller tip 4" on both sides. What's everyones take on it?

Careful with the big pipes, will look like the neighbors Honda.

looks sick dude, do it but I'd keep the tips at 5" or less, just IMHO. That's what I've got on my truck. It's more "hot rod" style than the "cut through the sheet metal" look to me.

I think this looked could be better pulled off on a lowered qc truck. Def lots of mixed opinions.

I think the 6" looks too ricer-ish. Side exhaust is cool though. I've seen some of the guys here who have cut it through the body work, and guys that just have the pipe under the body work, but maybe you could do what that SRT-8 owner did and notch the body work a little bit and tuck up the pipe. A 4" or 5" pipe tucked up like that would look cool. But like Iraqivet said, it may discolor your wheels, or even damage the paint on the bodywork.

I think some proper fabrication would be in order. Hopefully the funds will allow by next summer for a drop and exhaust upgrade.

You would need to keep a good wax on you wheels and keep them clean. The exhaust fumes would eventually ruin the finish on the rears if you aren't careful (especially the plastic center caps). .... Otherwise, I think it looks good. :)
