It'm almost ready to have my truck entirely repainted. Question I'm faced with is.... in what fashion do I want it painted.... how detailed etc.

If I did a monotone, I would choose the Brilliant Black like on the nightrunners OR True Black. Neither of which I've seen up close so its hard to say. I hear True Black looks outstanding.
Monotone won't give any points at a carshow though I'm afraid, so next step up is a 2 color mix.

For Duotone, I'd go black with a bright or deep blood red color. I like the idea of red stripes on black but its been done and if I'm going to the trouble to have it painted, may as well try to be unique. So I'd probably come up with some accent designs. Mild or Wild... dunno - Any input?

Then theres the steps above this involving more intricate designs and actual art... the more elaborate it is, the more it HAS to suit me. In general I like the bad-ass look and evil/sinister appeal. There's always skulls and true fire flames... can't really go wrong there but its been done so many times over (though it never really gets old if done well) I've had several various themes run through my head but do you guys have anything to input here? Maybe help sway my decision. I also have to fix my Z soon and have it repainted so it can serve as a guinni pig for initial color test hehe

I like the 2 tone look, Black on the bottom fading to dark grey on the top.. Personally I'd go with the NR color (the metallic black) then fade into the dark gray metallic (maybe darker than the mineral grey) if you still wanted like racing stripes or something... I'd use FLAT black for racing stripes... powder coat the wheels (black or dark grey) tint the windows... and voila that'd be sweet :) sometimes LESS is MORE :)

stinker, that's sweet, but the grill and wheels need to be black :D

It gets dark so early... I'd like to get a pic of it as it sits. The wheels I have are pretty neat, black and chrome. heavy tinting on the windows... definatly want to go with a dark theme overall. nothing too chirpy and flashy. I've thought about having a grim reaper thats airbrushed in and is pointing forward along a large section of the truck and have a big twisted and gnarly scythe. But I'm not really hooked on the idea. I'd do it to my car though if I had the extra cash laying around. hmmm I bet a true fire effect with various shades of red flames would be neat, and have them vary the pattern, make it kind of marbleized or plasma like (ish) if that makes sense.

*continues pondering*

if you're going to do more graphics or flames or something... I'd consider maybe to do your grim reaper but with snake skin and give him a snake head... or the flames might be the dark dark green fade to a lighter green...

I'd like to see what wheels you have... I saw a set of high polished chrome wheels that were smoked... on an M6 the other day... they were REAL shiny chrome.. just smoked :)...

A variation of this might look good. Its got your red, your black, skulls, girls and on the upper left, you have the devil.

Chris has a very cool Challenger and I'm sure he wouldn't want you to copy it to the "T". But maybe this will give you a head start on a direction

I like that. Imagine if I did something like that, but more ghosted on most of the truck. Also I thought about doing the whole truck in snake skin but wow that'd cost a fortune and wouldn't be impressive enough compared to the cost. Also might be cool to have a viper that looks like it 'bursts' through the metal of the truck, weaving in and out of the body. Or I could do skulls, and snakes, and spiders, and lots of creepy stuff... hmm

Also I'm including a shot I took of one of my wheels last night, in the rain. I havn't taken any pics of the more recent mods... poor truck hasn't been up to par for a while, not quite photogenic atm. In fact its been sitting in the yard in the same spot for a couple weeks now, exposed to the elements and stupid crap falling from the trees. the pic was almost black so that explains the bad quality

Actually I don't know about the RC's but the QC's are painted Galaxy Black. It's a variation of the metalflake black.:D

I just did this quick sketch to kind of show you the direction in which I might head if I go heavy custom airbrush. Lots of skulls and snakes and grim reaper guy with a snake skull helmet type thing like in the sketch.. But prettier.

that would be sick on the scoop

If I ever repaint my SRT10 or my '72 Blazer I'm gonna get the Sapphire Blue color that was on my '01 Viper GTS. Silver stripes on the SRT10 would just be sweet with the sapphire blue. Now I need a photoshop guy to show me what it would look like.

IMHO the best looking SRT I've seen so far is the all white ones. If I was going to go hog wild I'd do something that started with a white based truck. Of course, you could always go with the dull primer look of the 50's-60's...although I never really cared for it, it would be different, that's for sure.
