Tire Pressure

About 38 for me. Unless I'm looking for trouble. Then I lower the rears a little.

Does it actually help to lower the rears drastically at the dragstrip?
I have always been told to set the pressure where you are getting the full tread pattern on the ground during a short burnout, would this not be correct?

I think centrifugal force would make the tires "swell" so that the contact patch would be regained but in turn the side walls sould flex giving you a better bite. What do I know. This is just my guess.:dontknow:

P.S., where was I when you did this John Force Burnout you did the other day?!

i drop it low to 24psi on drag too but i follow what the door stick said during drive around town i believe it is at 38-40psi

Jimi,

We need to get together soon, I wish I could have come to Hooters the other nite. Not sure what is happening aroun here but I have had my truck a year now and havent actually raced anyone, I'm gettin real itchy maybe the Drag Strip will open for test and tune soon.

Its been open, but you work on Saturdays. Its been open from 11-5 for TnT. I'll wave at ya as I drive by your work to go to the track! ;)

Mostly grey haired drivers, but they don't do much damage to your tires when you run over them!!:D  :p

I run 36 # all around on the street but lower the rears to 20 and raise the fronts to 50 at the track.

My 60 ft times are better with the rear pressure lowered.:dontknow:

Highways mostly... The Semi's tear them up real bad. My average lifespan with tires here is about 10,000 miles. After that, they are all cupped to shit. :dontknow:
