I bought a set of Goodyear Fortera 305/45/22 at 16,500 miles. I now have 55,600 miles on the truck and have 35% left on the rear and a little over 50% on the front. Granted, I did most of those miles on the highway but by any accounts that is great mileage. Almost 40,000 miles on tires mounted on our trucks has to be some really great tires. You can guess what I will replace them with. :D

When I bought my truck the guy had put a set of them on.
I ran them for about 15,000 miles and they still looked as good as when I got it.
And I like to get on it every few days too.

Do you like the 45's over the 40's? Any noticible roll with high speed cornering?

If there is any roll I can't tell it, especially after Scott installed my sway bar. Also there has been no wear on the sidewalls or side tread so probably not. I do a lot of high speed cornering on the highway, ask Scott as he does not let go of the "oh crap" handle on the windshield post. :D I went with the 45's over the 40's for a smoother ride. Remember, I am 66 yr. young and like the softer ride. At 80 mph I am doing 82 so no biggie on the difference.

My truck had the Forteras when I first bought it. They didn't grip that good but they were "tighter" on the highway. I only got about 25k out of mine. Granted I did a few epic burnouts with them ;)

Ive got Nittos now and they are sloppy. Too much sway on the highway if I had to make an emergency lane change. Good traction though but not a handling tire.

My next tires are going to be at least V rated. Not H rated.

goodyear??? a.k.a. wingfoot???

how soft are they, rating wise????

one word for ya...... tire rotation.

had 2 sets of the BFG's with 30k on both sets. regular rotation & tire pressure check & adj., agressive city drivin

Truck had Pirellis on when I got it with 5k on it, Had problem with side bulge on 1 tire, Pirelli would make NO adjustment even if I bought 4 new tires. End of Pirellis. Went with Falken 305/45/22, good tire. Sold them when I got a deal on BFG KDW. Best tire ever had for my driving style. Currently have NITTO 420s, not excited at all. will be doing KDWs in spring..

HA! Good one, us geezers just use more discretion when & where we have our stupid attacks. Besides, we already know we can lite em up...

Thank you sir, well said. My truck is almost stock, so moving 6K pounds from the dead stop is a little slow (headed) unless racing a hemi. But racing from 40 or 60 or 70 MPH makes more since to me and no sir, can't break my tires loose at 70. :chain:

Get a Nitrous system from Scott and then you can..........

Ingbought general's for my first tire change and I liked them. Good grip and tight cornering. For my 2nd set I bought nittos. Nittos ducking such if you drive aggressive. Next round I'm getting kdw's

Don't tempt him as he's asked me about it already. As well as he seems to want to build his engine soon. Don't let him fool ya, 2400 stall and his mods get that heavy beast moving fast like! :burnout:
It's usually from 60-100 where he plays, lol.
