For all you RC guys, by far the best way to do a smoky burnout.

Start out in Second gear from a dead stop, drop the clutch at about 4500 rpms and hang on. You will even impress yourself with your trucks tire wasting abilities. Boy what fun...

That may be the first time in 50 years that anyone has referred to Silverback as "boy"!

I've got to leave the wife at home if I plan on doing that, makes her a bit nervous !!!

Can I do the FstJack burnout in my garage...it's ZERO with a wind chill of -18.

Back in the good old days I had a 1964 Dodge Polara that was a real POS,
but it had a built 440 Six-Pack and a four speed (Sleeper). This little nugget had 825x14 tires and a positraction rear. A good burnout with it consisted of a dead stop THIRD gear and drop the clutch around 4500 rpm's. You absolutely had to drive out of a smoke cloud that you could'nt see thru.
This didnt mean shit about the performance of said POS, but it sure was fun!!

fstjack.....i was thinking about a 2nd gear burnout in the staging lanes.....what about w/ a line lock.......get them goin in 1st keep the line lock engaged......then grab 2nd real quick and bring the revs up then take the switch off keep in it and try and keep her straight? gotta get that on video!

Not a good idea! Start in second at the track and just drop it from 5k. Shifting while in burnout with the linelock on is a good way to smoke the clutch or blow the diff.

I waited 3 days for somebody to say that!:dontknow:

A buddy of mine roasted a clutch in a '57 chevy with a Winston Cup qualifying motor trying to start a burnout in 3rd gear. Of course that was back when they used to change motors for qualifying!:D
