tonneau failure

closing my tonneau today , the hinge on the front broke loose , swinging the cover almost 45° , unclipping the gasshocks mounted in the middle....Gladly no paint damage ...just a bit surprized...

Now as i can see ( already dark, so job for tomorrow ) the hinge is just 2 aluminium U-profiles rotating in eachother with only 2 small screws inserted to prevent disconnection. I'm sure gonne look to make that a bit more rigid ! Wouldn't want to dream loosing the cover at 100 mph...

Elwin ,beter eens nakijken... denk dat de gasshocks die de boel omhoog houden wa straf zijn tov het scharnier ....misschien duwde ik wel niet in de midden van het deksel .... zou er toch moeten tegen kunnen... amerikaansen brol zekers ? :dontknow:
