Can I use a hitch designed for a regular 1500 or do I need something else to be able to pull a little trailer with my tractor on it?

Did you have to modify anything to make it fit? I am reading a lot of the hitches say that they are every 1500 excluding the SRT-10. I was going to order one on line because it is a lot less but I hate to order one and then it won't work and have to deal with returning it.

i would get the factory hitch for the srt-10 otherwise you will have to cut your rear fascia.

hidden hitch #87533..i purchased mine online,but don't re-call where:dontknow:

I HAVE ONE ON MINE IS GOIN TO BE TRADED IN MAKE ME AN OFFER ON IT AND YOU PAY TO SHIP ITS ON A 04 REG CAB. IM KEEPING JOHNS TRUCK THOUGH(FOR ALL THAT ARE READING)

Do you have a good pic you could post of looks from the rear w/hitch on for comparison to stock? TIA

I ended up buying an after market one for a 1500 and all I had to do was shave about a 16th of an inch around the opening in the rear valence to make it fit. For 75 dollars as compared to 180 to 200 anywhere else it worked out perfect and it only took about 20 minutes to install not including taking the bumper cover and side skirts off.

Does the bumper have to be removed to install a factory hitch?

To install the factory hitch you must remove the 2 side skirts behind the rear wheels, then remove the entire read bumper assembly. After that remove the spare tire, now unbolt the rear of the bed to raise it 3 inches, then you can unbolt the crossbar/hitch and slide it out. To install just reverse the steps.

Doesn't that sound like fun?:D

Bill.

Get the after market one. All you have to do is remove the side skirts and the bumper cover it takes about 20 minutes. You don't have to cut the bumper cover. All you have to do is trim the opening a 16th to an 8th of an inch, and it is just as good as the factory one.

or...you could do like me and drill holes for the bolts througth the bumper cover:dontknow: :D

Do the aftermarkets interfere w/the spare tire coming out properly in any way?

not with the hidden hitch model, for a clean install (no hole drilling through the bumper cover) you would be removing the side skirts and bumper cover...carefull not to scratch the body when removing the skirts (tape the body panels)

I thought about drilling a hole for about a tenth of a second and then just couldn't bring myself to do it. To be honest with you I doubt anyone would ever notice but it was just to easy to take the cover off.
