towing package question

Hey guys, got a question. My QC has the towing package on it and im trying to lower the weight of the truck overall so i can get better times at the strip. I was thinking about taking the hitch off but i noticed that its a welded onto a steele tube that is connected to the frame. Will removing that whole piece cause issues? Will it cause the frame/body to twist if i do auto-x? or make the truck less solid incase of an accident?

I think it will. My RC had the same bar without the receiver. It supports the step and bumper and ties the rear of the frame.

it is there for support. would not rec removing it

yea apparently u gotta take the bed off to remove it...screw that..lol.

Its a catch 22! U take it off you lose weight but you also lose traction and frame rigidity!! I thaught about it too and will just leave it on!
