track time.... any tips?

Snell 2005 certification is required at all NHRA tracks.

There are lots of helmets that will not pass tech inspection.

i am going tomorrow instead as i missed tech time today.
anything faster then 14.99 needs a helmet so they have them there for rent, as the helmet i want is $500.....

don't over do the helmet requirements as alot of tracks accept motocycle helmets which can be had for under $100.00....... check your tracks requirements !! PIR here in portland allows motorcycle helmets, mine was only ~$65.00...... good enough for the ~3 times a YEAR that i use it.

as far as @ the track, stage shallow & go on the last yellow light.....:rock:

If you decide to do the prestage burnout and then back up, make sure you take it out of reverse ..When you rev her up to 5 grand and dump the clutch, you will surely piss off some track guys..

Going to the track is the start of stimulating the economy with the investment of cubic dollars...it is also the start of the end of the truck as it sits today.

If you go to the track, be prepared for an immediate $10,000 hit. It can happen and you should be financially and emotionally prepared.

But that is part of the fun...rolling the dice.

I would disagree Roy...the end of his truck started with the one handed high speed ran out of road jaunt...or maybe before..IMO
