Trading the 10 for a Shelby GT 500???

Do you really want to take on another $200+ in pmts etc... a month in this FUBAR'd economy?

You got a blown ten dude.............be stoked with what you got!! GT500 or not, I see stangs all dam day long............I find em boring myself.

Do what makes you happy.:burnout:

I'm old and have traded cars a bunch through the years. I've had 5 Mustangs but only 1 SRT10.

Keep the truck.

your truck would smoke that car and your thinking of trading.... I had a friend take me for ride in one 2 weeks ago along the Blue Ridge Parkway and that car on curves SUCKS,,,,,,,,,

This was a nice thread (with which) to enjoy my morning coffee....

It seems as if this courageous man has attempted to get an unbiased opinion from a mostly biased crew of SRT-10 junkies. Contained within this specific demographic is an even more rabid contingent of Ford and (more specifically) Mustang haters. I can't begin to fathom whether or not you expected an objective response..... (although there were a couple).

(sound of coffee slurping and Vin Scully announcing the Dodgers game in the background)

My geezer observation is that you've simply gotten used to what you now have and along comes something new. It is a lifelong "toys" dilema. Guys like Jay Leno can have every toy (car/bike) that he sees...... (lucky guy). I'm presuming that you cannot say the same from your description....

My question is, how long will it be before you also get used to the GT500 and will you want the truck back.... Or will you just move on to something else....?

Did you take the GT500 out and romp on it in a turn? If not, then you absolutely must.

Good luck with your decision......

my truck can smoke a stock gt 500
yeah but you have 723hp-698tq. The average RC/QC is far from that.

I dont think he is looking at what's faster. Atleast i hope not. You can build anything to go faster. The GT500 would be a better platform to start off with. It's lighter and already blown.

Id love a gt500 just because it would be a new car, new everything, warranty. I would not like the monthly payments much less i couldnt afford them. Plus when i ride in a car, it feels like i am on the ground :dontknow:

I love the looks of the Shelby but have read a lot of negative things about it...summed up it is cheaply made and doesnt live up to it's power ratings at the track.....I vote keep the 10..

WOW! 5 pages. I didn't think I was going to get that much response on this thread. After sitting down and going through the pros and cons the Mrs. and I decided on stay with the 10. The only reason I was considering on the trade was having a car that I could take the kids in since they are getting bigger 8 & 10 yrs old. I liked the GT500 but still love the 10. My son says I'm not allowed to sell my truck because he wants it for himself when he is able to drive. I've scarficed alot and spent enough on her to let her go just like that. Plus I wasn't looking for to that new payment.

I'm in for the long haul, or until the next new thing comes up. Maybe the 2010 Camaro with the 427 ci.

Im not sayin that just to be a d:ck but its so much more fun to be fast in a 5000 pd, non aero dynamic, huge truck. For me I enjoy it, as the gt500 is an ok platform in my opinion to build but theres no challenge with a vehicle that is masssssssssssss produced and everyone in the neighborhood drives some model variation of it not to mention that the parts are everywhere and to many to choose from. I just feel that the 10 is more than a kick butt truck but something unique and special that if done right can kick some serious tail and look good doin it. No im not a Ford guy and probably never will be, yet even i can admit when they build something right thats cool, why i mentioned the 03/04 cobra (that was a nice car) but these new ones to me just aint worth the money plus i really think there ugly as sin. I would rather see him in a new chevy or even another dodge than the gt 500. Heck even a lightning would be 10000000 times better in my opinion (which i almost bought as a day driver while my 10 spent the winter in the garage). I have friends who are mustang guys and well alot of them dont care for the new gt or even gt 500 compaired to previous models for many reasons but thats there opinion as well. Yes im bais and admit it but its my opinion from what ive seen, heard and think. Nothing more than that meign, if he wants that car no one on here is going to sway his opinion and im not going to personally hold a grudge or anything like that. I may poke a little fun but its all in good fun nothing beyond that. So whether he goes furd or chevy or dodge ect so on as long as hes a member here i consider him a friend.:D

i want a camaro too! did you see them unveil the production model, its a nice ride. And yes the 10 rocks!

I know I sold my truck to another member here see post above me, and got a 04 Cobra so I am biased but I already have the cobra down in the 10's for 5 grand. I had over 25 K into my truck and its no where as fast as this thing is. Both are fun to drive and I still miss my truck but you have to look at what you want to do. If you love the attation and like to cruze stay with the truck but if you want to go fast and not spend a ton of money get the GT 500.

your 03/04 terminator cobra doesnt count! by the way where were you yesterday, not at roys hmmm lol
Its ok youll come back to the 10 someday, or i can throw a hitch on and tow ya if ya need help:p :D

I wish I was but wife is going out of town and I had to stay home with the kidz. And why doesent my Cobra count its a furd. Hope the beast is runnin like a champ for you.

nice lol go figure after my last statement about your particular furd you know I know now hmm

and you are just an evil man in a furd from hell now lol

go to flash chat so we dont hoe up this thread

got almost the same hp numbers you have but thats runnin 16lbs of boost and 75 shot. Hey I found the other mirror if you want it.

Glad you decided to keep the 10, Mustangs are a dime a dozen and you should always be able to pick one up out there somewhere. You have much lower payments on your truck and that is a plus

While I love 03/04 cobras its really not the same deal he is getting. He will be into the GT500 for over 50k. If he were to sell it and buy a 04 cobra to go ballz out then I would say hell yeah.

Who cares of there a dime a dozen...what else would you say when your going to get owned
