540 from bolt-ons?!?! That's crazy! What's he done since his last (502) dyno?
dcperformance baby!...Ala: Chris Jensen Tuner

They don't misplace T/B's either.

LOL well let's just say I didn't have the same results;)

and it turns out that I'm an idiot. I have the invoice from Tony, but I told him to hold onto the TB when my trans let go.

There simply has to be more than bolt ons there.

My truck had every bolt on available, including ported heads, custom cam, ported intake runners, ported TB, long tube headers, cat back, tune by one of the best in the business and it made 535/560.

I'm not doubting he made 540 because his track times reflect that kind of power. I'm just sayin I don't believe the truck can make it with simple bolt ons. :dontknow:

Is this a "Race Gas" tune? That would account for some of it.
Is the 540 number corrected or SAE? Corrected would be more accurate than SAE.

Put the rear tires on in and redo the dyno.... 540 is good but helll if i did that i'd bust maybe 600... good numbers but the only good thing that dyno is to get the A/F ratio down correct

hell hes missing 200lbs rolling mass thats where all the power is coming from

Tuning with race gas and using SAE numbers could inflate the number by 30-40 hp as well. ;)

that is true i need to get my truck tuned on the spray and race gas!

;) Tuning dyno

The DynaPack does generate higher numbers than a wheel driven dyno, but Chris prefers this type for tuning. Tooloe is correct that those rear wheels and tires take a lot of energy. Since the last time at DC Performance when the numbers were 502 HP and 536 Ftlbs....when we installed the ported intake, the following changes were made...1. a custom made true dual, equal length, X-pipe catless exhaust was installed. 2. BBk throttle body and 3. Stinkers Coils and Wires. DC Performance guys were really impressed with the exhaust system and Chris feels that it was mainly responsible for the huge gains. By the way the numbers were CORRECTED, not uncorrected. I was in total shock when I saw the numbers....so peak horespower went from 502 to 541 and peak torque went from 536 to 573 ......simply amazing...and I still haven't removed a valve cover.....but I am getting close. The fuel used was 1/4 tank of 91 octane with 5 gallons of 98 unleaded octane. The base numbers before fuel and race tune were 538 HP and 567 FtLbs. So not much gain with race tune but still a small gain of 3 HP and 6 FtLbs.

Numbers are Corrected and remember its a dynapack not a wheel dyno....and BELIEVE it, DC says this truck has consistently put down better than average numbers...in fact the highest numbers from a stock engine they have seen once it was tuned.

Very impressive:rock: With the wheels on, that's still over 500 to the ground with bolt-ons:burnout:

Congrats!

Thanks Brad....and I am still holding on to "your" front wheels, so no hurry, get your transmission sorted out.

I was going to take pics of the exhaust but we didn't get to put it up on the lift yesterday. Maybe next time I will.
