Figure its about time to post up the aftermath.....
Sent my trans to Six Speeds, Inc to get it rebuilt and cryo'd. Readers digest version.....they told me 4 times that the trans was finished and or shipped. So what was initially ensured a 5-8 day process, turned into a 5 1/2 week cluster phuck.
I wouldnt have been half as pissed if they just told me they were busy but to tell me my trans was finished and shipped (even giving me false tracking numbers) was complete BS.
Anyway, the trans is back in.....
What attributed to the loss of second gear (drag racing had nothing to do with it
) is the failure of a viper slave unit. It was slowly going bad and first noticed it at the track when the truck would creep forward in the staging lane when revving over 4000 RPMS.
Sooo, ordered a new Viper master/slave unit along with an OEM flywheel from Justin
No more hydrolic issues and the truck has never shifted this good....ever
The truck feels quicker with the OEM flywheel and heavy traffic driving manners are much improved
Sooo, after 5-6 months of either the truck being down or not shifting worth a crap, I am now in love all over again
Going to switch back to the Gen IV from the Gen II shifter this weekend.
Anyone want a Fidenza flywheel cheap :dontknow: It only has a couple 5000rpm clutch drops on it
