Is there a way to get the transmission temp from the SCT tuner? Or some other way I don't know about. Otherwise I planned on buying a trans temp gauge. The reason I want it is because I installed a Mag-Hytec deeper pan last year and want to make sure I filled it up correctly, and I need to know the temp and dipstick reading to be sure. Not having any problems, just peace of mind. The pan has a hole for the gauge. But if I can save some money, that's always good. Thanks!

No sir you'll have to purchase a gauge to monitor temp and I agree its a great investment and idea. We like to install them in autos.
 
Cool, thanks. Now I have to figure out if I should get a 5th gauge. I will have the oil temp, A/F, and D-Pic gauges in the A-pillar. Then the trans temp gauge, I guess over the steering wheel. Question is should I get another gauge and dual holder, or just the trans gauge over the steering wheel. Either way I guess I have to paint it taupe, since they only come black.

Probably only adding a full exhaust performance wise. Wanted to go the striker way, but not sure now, most likely stay NA. That wouldn't happen for years though.
 
I use a PLX Devices multi-gauge. It ties into the OBD-II port and can display any of the sensor outputs that the PCM sees. I don't think our trucks monitor tranny temp via the PCM but you can get temp sensors through PLX to do this.

 
Cool, that's another option. Figured there was something like that out there. Is there even another gauge I really need if I'm staying NA? Won't need a boost gauge, don't really need a fuel pressure gauge.

I currently have a temp gauge for tranny and highly recommend it. One of the gauges I watch most. I have the dual pod over the steering column and am going to mount two a/f gauges there to monitor each bank and the the triple on on the pillar with oil temp, boost, and tranny temp.

Hey, I know this was from a while ago, but do you have one that matches the 2006 interior color, or is it black. I can only seem to find black. Thanks!
 
I can get you the matching pod bud.matching gauges as well. Give me a shout if I can help ya.

Uh, I'm such a dumbass. A few weeks ago I finally purchased the single pod holder for steering column in black since I couldn't find it in taupe. So I bought some taupe spray paint to make it match. Had some time at my garage the other day, so I decided to paint it. Good thing I looked at my steering column first since it's GRAY!!!!



So I just did a couple coats of adhesion promoter, couple coats of sandable primer, and a couple coats of clear. Looks pretty good to me!



 
i was reading this whole thread thinking what the hell is he talking about, haha, glad you caught it but it makes me feel better about almost electrocuting myself the other day:D
 
Ha, well I didn't want to start another thread just for this. I think I've been looking at the pillar pod holder sitting in my garage for so long, that the steering pod holder needed to be the same color. Would have been pissed when finally installing it.

Was the truck trying to zap you, or at home?
 
That could have been fun! If you can, take some pics of the bars while installing. I would like to see the connections, and what I'd be getting myself into. I asked someone else for pics, but still haven't gotten any...I won't mention any names...

Pod fitment

I tried fitting one of my new gauges into the new triple gauge pillar. It would barely fit just pushing it through. Do I need those brackets and screws that come with the gauges? I saw that the stock pillar has a bracket for the oil temp gauge. Or will just squeezing the gauges in be good enough to hold? Thanks!

 
Just did this Chewy. Some come with a bracket or a twist on but either way each had to be finessed in. Make sure you line em up the way you want in the cab then tighten them up.

I have an android headunit and was able to install Torque. I get lots of good info but no trans-temp.
